Equilibrium

A little bit of background history:

Georgia has been practicing Massage Therapy since she graduated from AIAS (Australian Institute of Applied Sciences) in Melbourne, Australia in 2017. When suffering from Glandular Fever back in 2016, which then developed into a chronic illness CFS/ME, Georgia was receiving regular massage and acupuncture treatments to aid her recovery which then inspired her towards her journey in Remedial Massage. After seeing firsthand how massage could positively influence and effect her body, she decided that she wanted to develop the skill to help and heal in the same way that others had helped her. From there, she embraced the unknown, left her previous job of 3 years as a Personal Assistant and then took the first step into her new career as a Massage Therapist. Georgia speaks of her role as a Massage Therapist and says: “My work is no longer focused on getting through mundane 9-5pm days and longing for the weekend. Now each day is different and exciting and my true passion lies in being able to help, educate and support my clients to commit to their own wellness journey.”

Our Treatments include:

Sports Massage:

A highly effective massage that targets pain and physical problems resulting from exercise. This treatment is designed to correct imbalances in soft tissue and muscle. It also provides relief for a range of injuries including: strains, sprains, tears and inflammation, as well as conditions including tennis elbow, shin splints & frozen shoulder. Deep Tissue Massage:

Free yourself from pain, tension or restricted movement with a Deep Tissue Massage. Focusing on the realignment of deeper muscle fibres, this massage uses slow, firm strokes and pressure to promote circulation, increase mobility and reduce the tension or pain, leaving the body feeling revived and re-energised. Pregnancy Massage:

This soothing massage encourages total relaxation and helps to alleviate the natural symptoms of pregnancy including: backache, muscle fatigue and swelling. The gentle, noninvasive approach of this treatment offers both emotional and nurturing support and is designed to help new Mums be prepared for labour. Postnatal Massage:

A nurturing post-pregnancy treatment designed to support mind & body and adjust to both the emotional and physical demands of caring for baby. This treatment focuses on promoting relaxation by releasing areas of tension which have developed as a result of carrying, feeding and holding baby, as well as easing general aches and pains, stretching out tight or sore muscles, and helping to realign posture. Swedish/Relaxation Massage:

De-stress and unwind during this treatment which uses long, smooth strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. This treatment is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension and will transport both your mind and body to a place of complete calm. ✨ What Is Your Body Trying to Tell You During Treatment? ✨

Your body speaks in many ways during a treatment session. Muscle twitches, goosebumps, stomach gurgles, temperature shifts, and changes in breathing are all common physiological responses that can occur when the body becomes more relaxed and your awareness of internal sensations increases.

Every body responds differently—and that is completely normal, so how many of these can you relate to?

🔹 Muscle Twitching
Small involuntary twitches can occur due to changes in muscle tension, nerve activity, or muscle fatigue. They may become more noticeable as muscles relax.

🔹 Stomach Gurgling
Those rumbling sounds (called borborygmi) are caused by the movement of food, fluid, and gas through the digestive tract. They may become more noticeable as you relax.

🔹 Goosebumps
Goosebumps happen when tiny muscles attached to hair follicles contract. They can be triggered by touch, emotions, temperature changes, or nervous system activity.

🔹 Feeling Warmer or Cooler
Changes in body temperature can occur as blood flow shifts and muscles relax. Some people feel warmth spreading through the body, while others may feel cooler.

🔹 Breathing Changes
As the body relaxes, breathing often becomes slower, deeper, and more regular. This is a common response to feeling calm and safe.

🌿 Why do we feel so calm in nature? 🌿

💚 Nature helps move the body out of “fight or flight” mode and into “rest and digest,” lowering stress hormones and helping us feel physically calmer.

💚 It also gives the brain a break from constant stimulation. Things like trees, water, birds, and fresh air create “soft fascination” — gently holding our attention without overwhelming us.

💚 Biologist Edward O. Wilson called this idea “biophilia” — the theory that humans are naturally wired to feel connected to nature because we evolved in natural environments.

💚 Nature helps reduce overthinking, creates perspective, and makes problems feel less overwhelming.

💚 Natural sounds, light, fresh air, and movement help regulate the nervous system while nature often symbolises freedom, safety, healing, and escape from pressure.

✨ Sometimes, the best therapy really is sunlight, fresh air, and a walk outside ✨

💪🏼🕸️ The Jaw / Hip Connection Through The Fascia Network 🕸️💪🏼

The jaw & hips are functionally connected through the body’s fascial network, nervous system, and postural alignment, meaning tension or misalignment in one frequently mirrors the other.

This connection allows for the transmission of tension from the jaw, through the spine, to the pelvis and hips, often resulting in synchronized tension patterns.

So often when you hear me say ‘IT’S ALL CONNECTED’ this is a prime example!

Take a moment and clench your jaw, really clench those teeth together. Where else do you feel tension in your body? I can feel a heat and a subtle contraction around my abdomen which is right next to those deeper hip flexor muscles. This is due to the nervous system connections mentioned below.

🪷 Myofascial Meridians (Fascia): The jaw and hips are linked by continuous, fibrous connective tissue known as fascia. Specifically, the “Superficial Front Line” and “Lateral Line” of fascia run from the jaw down through the neck, chest, abdomen, and into the pelvis, connecting these distant parts

🪷 Postural and Structural Link: Misalignments in the jaw, such as a lateral shift or TMJ dysfunction, can lead to a tilted pelvis, where one hip is elevated. This is because the body attempts to balance the jaw’s position, often causing the pelvic girdle to mirror the tension and tilt of the jaw

🪷 Nervous System Connections: The jaw and pelvic floor share neurological pathways, particularly involving the trigeminal nerve and the vagus nerve, which can cause relaxing one area to ease tension in the other

🪷 Range of Motion Impact: Research suggests that tension in the jaw muscles can restrict movement in the hip joints, and releasing the TMJ (temporomandibular joint) can improve hip flexibility and range of motion

🪷 Clinical Application: Practices like chiropractic care, dentistry, clinical Botox and myofascial release in massage often leverage this connection to treat chronic pain, using jaw positioning to help correct pelvic alignment and vice-versa

So if this resonates for you and you want to know more or are in need of some relief, please do send us a message! ✨⭐️🙌🏼
