I used to think saying no made me selfish when actually it was teaching me to value myself.

Not everyone will like your boundaries and that’s okay. I have lost friendships through saying no, to those I have always said yes to.

The people who truly care about you will adjust. The guilt does lessen the more you practise.

Every time you choose yourself you’re reminding yourself that your needs matter too. You can be a kind person and still say no, there will still be times you will say yes, when you want to say no.

You can love people and still have boundaries, you can still be kind and show kindness support others without abandoning yourself.

The guilt is often just a sign that you’re growing, even if it may not seem like it.

Did guilt show up for you when you started saying no? How did you cope with the guilt?

I will be sharing a meditation to help you to say no very soon.

Sharing hugs and love,

Living with addiction is incredibly hard for everyone involved. If you are waking up feeling sad, disappointed, unheard, or unseen, then this is for you.

When you live with someone who has an addiction, you often live with the hope that they will change. They tell you they will give up whatever has become their crutch. They promise they will. They say all the right things, and sometimes they genuinely try for a while. If you are very lucky, maybe they will make lasting changes.

But for those of you where that day may never come, this is your reminder that it is time to take care of yourself.

This is your sacred time to reclaim the parts of yourself that have been lost through disappointment, waiting, and constantly living in hope.

First of all, don’t spiritually bypass what you are feeling. Start by journalling your thoughts. Be completely honest and hold nothing back. If you are worried about someone finding what you have written, you can burn the pages afterwards or keep your journal somewhere safe.

The two things I always suggest are:

Firstly, take a walk in nature, your garden, or anywhere that helps you feel grounded and connected to yourself.

Secondly, get out some paints, pencils, or any creative materials you have and create something that makes you smile. If you feel called to explore your shadow self, try drawing or painting how you are feeling instead. Both approaches work in different ways, but both can be deeply healing.

If painting isn’t for you, that’s okay. Simply get out of the house and do something just for yourself, something that helps bring back your sparkle, your smile, and a little joy.

You deserve moments that are yours, regardless of whether someone else chooses to change.

Transformation begins in the smallest moments.

Like butterflies, we’re reminded how growth often asks us to let go of old versions of ourselves so something more beautiful can emerge.

With a little ritual, intention, and space to reconnect, healing becomes softer and transformation becomes more possible.

Returning to Her is a sacred space for women over 40 to rediscover calm, balance, joy, and themselves again.

Butterfly Transformation Ritual

Find a quiet space in nature. Close your eyes and place your hands over your heart. Take 3 slow, deep breaths.

Then softly say:

“I let go of the version of me that no longer feels aligned.

I choose to welcome peace, softness, joy, and transformation into my life.”

Write down one thing you’re ready to let go of, and one thing you want to invite in.

Safely burn it as a symbol of transformation. Then return the ashes to the Earth, asking our Earth Mother to transform them into love and light for our beautiful planet.

If you see a butterfly in the next few days, let it be a reminder that change can be gentle, beautiful, and divinely timed.

I love growing my own plants to heal my body and mind. You don’t need a lot of space, you can grow so many healing plants in little pots.

Gardening has helped to ground me to our Earth mother, reconnect with nature, wildlife and so much more.

When we hit 40 plus, we can finally take some sacred time out to care for ourselves, without feeling guilty etc.

Impatiens flower essence is traditionally used to help when emotions feel too much, impatience, frustration, agitation, inner tension and feeling unable to slow down.

During perimenopause and menopause, especially in hot weather, many women notice they feel more reactive, sensitive and emotionally exhausted.

Impatiens encourages calm, patience and emotional balance, helping you soften the feeling of being constantly on edge. It can be especially comforting during those overheated moments when everything feels irritating and overwhelming.

As temperatures rise across the UK, this little flower remedy can be a beautiful addition to your self care:

supporting emotional calm, easing frustration and irritability, helping you slow down and breathe, bringing a sense of peace during hormonal shifts

As a flower essence practitioner & nature witch. I like to use UK based flower essences.

However in this case. I would also add Mulla Mulla, an Australian bush flower essence to a bespoke mix which is the perfect partner for the current weather.

We are programmed to believe that we can’t have it all.
But the truth is, why shouldn’t we?

I believe in balance.
A little of both helps us appreciate all that we have even more. 💕

However, today, on this beautiful sunny day, I choose it all. 😁

With a nice mint chocolate chip ice cream would be perfect. 🍦

And you, what do you choose?

I would love to know.

I have been tending my own witches, healing & holistic garden for many years now.

With an array of different plants. I like to make my own teas, create flower essences, rose water, ground my energy and so much more.

Nightclubs and noisy places, simply don’t call to me anymore.

If you interested in tending your own inner and outer garden.

I will sharing more tips here and on my website blog.
