Hear from Anniken as she reflects on her experience of working with Yin, the Chakras and the deeper layers of inner exploration.

Our 30hr Yin & Chakras Teacher Training weaves together Yin Yoga, Chakra philosophy and Transpersonal Psychology, exploring the Root, Sacral, Solar Plexus and Heart Chakras through their themes, archetypes and shadows.

Our foundation is everything.

The way we feel in our body.
The way we relate to safety, stability, and support.
The way we meet the ground beneath us.

The Root Chakra invites us back to this foundation — not by forcing stability, but by feeling into it.

Through Yin, we don’t try to fix or control.
We stay. We listen. We allow the body to reveal where support is already present — and where it’s asking for attention. 🤍

These shapes offer a gentle way to reconnect:
To the feet. To the legs. To the deeper sense of being held.

Not creating grounding.
Remembering it.

If you feel called to explore this work more deeply, our 30-hour Yin & Chakra Teacher Training is an opportunity to dive into the body, the energy system, and the inner landscape they reveal.

An experiential immersion into Yin Yoga, Chakra philosophy, and meaningful inner work.

What if your Yin practice wasn’t about going deeper — but about listening more closely? ✨

It can be easy to bring effort into even the most receptive practices: pushing a little further, trying to “improve” the pose, or deciding how the experience should feel.

But Yin offers another possibility.
To soften.
To notice.
To allow the body to communicate before we rush to change anything.

Sometimes the most meaningful shift happens not when we add more effort, but when we create enough space to hear what is already there.

Sometimes practice begins when effort ends.

We’ll explore this receptive, Taoist-Feminine approach more deeply in our upcoming workshop: A Taoist-Feminine Approach to Practising Yin Yoga

We often think of surrender as passive — as if it means doing nothing, losing control, or simply letting life happen to us.

But from a Taoist perspective, yielding can be a deeply active practice of awareness.

It asks us to listen.
To feel.
To notice what is already present before rushing to change it.

Rather than imposing what we think should happen, we create enough space to recognise what the body, the moment, and the experience may already be communicating.

There is a time to act.
And there is a time to allow.

Wisdom is learning to recognise what the moment calls for.

This receptive, feminine approach is one of the themes we’ll explore more deeply in our upcoming workshop, A Taoist–Feminine Approach to Practising Yin Yoga.

Your body may register something before your mind has found the words for it.

Tension. Resistance. A sense of softening. An impulse to move — or perhaps to become still.

In a receptive practice, we don’t immediately rush to interpret, fix, or change what we notice. We begin by listening.

By giving attention to sensation and allowing the body’s experience to unfold, we can become more attuned to the subtler messages that may otherwise be overlooked.

Feel first. Listen. Then respond.

This embodied, bottom-up approach is one of the themes we’ll explore in our upcoming workshop:

Are you practising Yin Yoga in a Yang way? 🪷

Even in a practice centred around stillness, we can find ourselves striving — trying to go deeper, do it “right”, control what we feel, or turn the pose into something to achieve.

A more receptive approach invites something different.

To soften rather than push.
To allow rather than control.
To feel rather than achieve.
To respond rather than force.

Sometimes the practice isn’t about changing the experience at all. It’s about becoming present enough to listen to what is already there.

This is exactly what we’ll explore experientially in our upcoming A Taoist–Feminine Approach to Practising Yin Yoga workshop — using Yin Yoga as a space for receptivity, surrender, awareness, and intuitive self-balancing.
