Primary rhinoplasty, often simply called a «nose job,» is a surgical procedure that reshapes or resizes the nose. It’s termed «primary» when it’s the first rhinoplasty procedure on a nose, distinguishing it from secondary or revision rhinoplasty which corrects or refines a previous rhinoplasty.
**Procedure Steps:**
✅Consultation:** A preoperative assessment where the surgeon discusses the patient’s goals and evaluates the anatomy of the nose and face.
✅Anesthesia:** Rhinoplasty can be performed under local or general anesthesia, depending on the complexity and patient/surgeon preference.
✅Incisions:** There are two primary approaches:

We are so grateful to our lovely patient for allowing us to share her photos with you. She had a primary rhinoplasty with precision ultrasonic instruments allowing for super well defined tip. This was combined with a short scar facelift for natural rejuvenation. This type of facelift combines SMAS plication with a limited skin excision for a fast recovery. We can’t stop admiring the wonderful effect on the cheekbones and jawline.

✍️ An interesting piece by Harriet Walker in the Sunday Times Magazine and I was very happy to be included. This is an important topic to highlight involving young, impressionable women - and men - seeking (sometimes non-reversible) aesthetic cosmetic treatments.

🤳 Selfie obsession has been driving some very unhealthy preoccupations and when combined with filters can give the viewer a very distorted and unnatural image. Some celebrities have begun to fight back (think Baywatch star Pamela Anderson’s red carpet fresh face drive) but the young are not seeming to follow - yet anyway!

🩺 Luckily my patients in the main are professional women and men aged 35 - 70 and their goals are to ‘freshen, not change’ their looks, but I do see a small but sadly growing number of 20 somethings seeking, often inappropriate, interventions.
