When I help people lose weight I have 2 golden rules: Keep it simple, and keep it stress-free.
We’ve all got busy lives and while experimenting with new recipes is fun, when you’re trying to lose weight, it involves constantly recalculating your calories and macro nutrients.
That’s why my meal rotation method is so effective. It keeps you consistent, ensures minimal food prep stress is minimal and guarantees weight loss.
How it works:
Choose 2 to 3 meals for lunch and 2 to 3 for dinner.
These will be tried and tested meals that deliver on your calorie and macro targets.
Repeat these meals throughout the 7-day week.
I follow this myself. As a part-time locum optometrist, I haven’t got time to make complex meals. So, on work days I go for simple salads – ensuring I include grain, leafy greens, protein and healthy fat- while on days off I whip up scrambled tofu with avocado and sourdough bread. This makes my life so much easier; there’s no guesswork and makes my grocery list that much more straightforward.
The beauty of it is that you can be flexible with it. So long as you keep to the 80/20 rule – which is following a healthy diet 80% of the time, you can make room for indulgence on those big family outings, parties and work dos. It won’t affect your weight-loss progress …significantly! 😉
