Over the decades have been entrusted with countless funerals for members of the Armed Forces, of all ranks. From time to time these have included figures of great renown, as is the case here with the Cermonial Funeral of Bernard Montgomery, 1st Viscount Montgomery of Alamein, which was held at St George's Chapel Windsor on April 1st, 1976. Queen Elizabeth II was represented by her husband Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, and five British field marshals served as ceremonial pall bearers. His final resting place was a simple plot in the churchyard of Holy Cross, Binsted, near his home at Islington Mill.
