Lists. Timers. Reminders. Post-it notes.

For many adults with ADHD, these aren't just organisational tools. They're coping strategies built over years of trying to keep up.

Sometimes those strategies work so well that the effort behind them becomes invisible, both to other people and to ourselves.

In a recent blog, we explored why ADHD in adults is often missed, how it can present differently in women, and what the assessment process involves.

Recovery doesn't mean never struggling again.

It means learning how to keep moving forward, even when things feel difficult.

You can be recovering and still have hard days. You can be recovering and still need support.

Progress and struggle can exist at the same time. 💙

When you're worried about your child, knowing where to turn isn't always straightforward.

Our consultations and specialist assessments help families make sense of the options, understand what support is needed, and create a clear path forward.

Sometimes that means treatment with us. Sometimes it means another service is a better fit.

Either way, we're here to help you navigate the next step.

Can an eating disorder change shape without you realising?

In our latest blog, Hannah, a part of the Altum Health marketing team, shares the next chapter of her own recovery journey, reflecting on how an eating disorder can sometimes hide in places that look healthy from the outside.

From compulsive exercise and perfectionism to discovering movement that brings genuine joy, Hannah writes honestly about recovery, self-understanding and learning to relate to herself differently.

A thoughtful read for anyone who has ever questioned what their exercise is really for - connection, or escape.

Some videos stay relevant no matter when they were recorded.

A while ago, Dr Courtney Raspin spoke about “summer bodies”, set point weight, and the pressure many of us feel when the weather gets warmer and our bodies become more visible.

And honestly? Not much has changed.

Every year, we’re told we should be smaller, stricter, more “ready”. But your body does not need to earn sunshine, holidays or summer clothes.

If this time of year feels difficult, this conversation might help you feel a little less alone.

In this video, Dr Courtney Raspin shares how “chair work” can help people express difficult feelings, including anger, in a safe and therapeutic way.

Sometimes saying the things you’ve never been able to say out loud can feel incredibly freeing.

Recovery isn’t always easy, even when your journey is well underway.

Sometimes, as the rules start to loosen and the eating disorder loses its grip, everything else feels louder instead. That doesn’t mean recovery isn’t working.

Scroll through to find out more or head to our blog section where Dr Courtney explores this experience of recovery in more depth.

Exams can make everything feel a little more intense, including food, stress, emotions, and the pressure to “keep it all together”.

In this video, Dr Courtney shares a gentle reminder that during periods of high stress, our brains and bodies need support — and that includes nourishment.

If routines, appetites, or emotions feel a little different at the moment, that’s okay.

Good luck to everyone in exam season right now… and to the parents trying not to ask, “How did it go?” before their child is even out of the exam hall. 😉

Our most recent blog is a deeply personal reflection from Hannah Hickinbotham on late diagnosed AuDHD, masking, atypical anorexia and recovery.

It’s a really honest piece about understanding yourself differently, and finding compassion for the parts of yourself you once tried to hide.

A little glimpse into our Altum away day ☀️

A chance to step away from the therapy room, spend time together and reflect on the work we do as a team. We were lucky enough to hear from Dr Max Pemberton, co-author of The Weight Loss Prescription with Altum Health founder, Dr Courtney Raspin, alongside a very competitive game of darts and plenty of laughter in between.

“We’re doing serious work, but we hold it lightly.”

That probably sums up Altum best. The work matters deeply to us, but so do connection, humour and making space to enjoy being together as a team.

One of the nicest things about Altum is that even when we’re all busy in different places, getting back together always feels easy.
