Start where you are.
Not where you wish you were.
Not where someone else is.
Where YOU are today.

That could be:
✓ A 10-minute walk
✓ Drinking more water
✓ Going to bed earlier
✓ Stretching for 5 minutes

You don’t need to do everything.
You just need to do the next thing.

Great day at the CYSM Annual Conference 2026 in London 🇬🇧
As a physiotherapist, it was fantastic to learn from leading experts in adolescent sports medicine and athlete health.
Some highlights for me:
🔹 Sarah Davies on REDs and the importance of understanding the relationship between energy availability, hormones, growth and injury risk in young athletes.
🔹 Alex Maxwell’s insightful talk on how AI, social media and digital behaviours are increasingly influencing the wellbeing of adolescents both on and off the sports field.
🔹 Nicola Brown’s fascinating presentation on breast biomechanics and the impact on performance, comfort and health in young female athletes.
A day full of valuable discussions, new perspectives and evidence-based practice that I can take back into clinical work.

You moved through life like a dancer who’d learned the choreography by heart, only to realise the music keeps changing. For a long time, every misstep felt like failure — jobs lost, friendships faded, dreams paused. But somewhere along the way, they began to see the beauty in the detours. The heartbreak taught them empathy. The wrong turns brought unexpected wisdom. The pauses gave them breath.

Now, they carry a quiet strength — not because everything went right, but because they learned to move with grace when it didn’t. They’ve stopped judging the rhythm of their journey. Instead, they trust it. Because they know now: every stumble, every backward step, every still moment — it was all part of the dance.
