This Volunteers Week 2026 we want to celebrate the incredible individuals that volunteer support to Arts Network with warmth, skill and dedication.

Our creative community of members help in so many ways, including co-facilitating workshops for other members and supporting drop-ins as part of our public programme. Craft groups with crochet and textiles, sculpture sessions with clay and papier-mâché.

Member volunteers help with cataloguing our archive and materials, supporting installation and invigilation of our exhibitions in partner spaces like Art Hub Studios and Deptford Lounge

We simply couldn't do what we do without the amazing support of our volunteers, so thank you, thank you, thank you!

A huge thank you and cheer of recognition to Kenny, Warren, Laura, Vanessa, John, Dawn, Jo, Saffron, Nuala, Fred and all of our Trustees who volunteer their time to help steer us in the right direction.

We value our existing volunteers, and also with the future in mind ask you to look out for our public volunteering programme that we will be launching later this year!

Studio Highlight: Our member recently made her first mosaic!

Jessie says:
“I wanted to try and create something that I hadn’t before, I have always been in admiration of tiles and wanted to explore Mosaics. Arts Network gave me a place to do this and to teach me the skills and with encouragement that I wouldn’t have otherwise had. I combined my interests of swimming with the tiles and got to create a piece I’m really proud of.”

The mosaic was shared in our recent Community Showcase: 30 Years of Arts Network.

Arts Network has a long history of mosaic making, and we’re so happy to see this continue to grow! Thank you Jessie!

We organise regular trips for members to cultural venues and green spaces as part of our creative programme. With spring in the air we took a sunny afternoon trip to Wild Cat Wilderness - a community green space in Catford.

This is a place dear to our heart as the home for a beautiful Arts Network Mosaic Bench, and on this visit we got involved in their community project: Digging the Dirt.

We had the opportunity to learn about the importance of soil, and took part in an activity to paint and write messages on rocks inspired by the theme of soil.

A beautiful day 🪏💚🪱🌻
