Congratulations to our Student Experience Team, who have been shortlisted for a Nursing Times Workforce Award for their Bridging the Gap programme! πŸ†

Developed in partnership with Kingston University, the programme helps nursing students build the skills and confidence they need to transition into practice as newly qualified nurses.

Since launching, the programme has supported hundreds of students with training in key areas including medicines management, risk assessment, care planning and escalation, helping them feel ready for the workplace.

Well done to everyone involved in making this programme such a success, and good luck at the awards ceremony in November.

πŸš€ We’ve launched our Trust Strategy 2026-2031.

Over the next five years, we'll work to make sure everyone who uses our services receives excellent, personalised care that helps them live well and thrive.

🀝 A big part of this is working together. By building strong partnerships with local communities, people who use our services, carers and partner organisations, we can achieve more than we could alone.

πŸŽ₯ In this video, parent and carer Gemma shares how partnership working helped shape the Sutton Neurodevelopmental Needs One Stop Shop, a welcoming drop-in service that offers support, advice and a friendly space for parents and carers of young people facing challenges.

πŸ’™ Celebrating our carers at Burntwood Villas

We know how important carers, family members and friends are in supporting the people we care for.

At the end of August, the team at Burntwood Villas was delighted to host an end-of-summer event for carers, bringing together family members and friends of people receiving support from the rehabilitation unit.

The event was an opportunity to enjoy good food and good company, while recognising and thanking carers for the invaluable support they provide every day.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. The team hopes this will become a regular opportunity to celebrate and recognise the carers who play such an important role in people's recovery.

Our Mental Health Crisis Line number is changing. Please help us spread the word!

πŸ“ž From 1 October 2026, anyone needing urgent mental health support in south west London should call NHS 111 instead of 0800 028 8000.

People will still be connected to local mental health crisis services, and the support they receive will remain the same. The only thing changing is the phone number.

Moving to NHS 111 will provide a single, nationally recognised number for people to call when they need urgent help.

Children and young people, their families and carers will still be able to contact the South London Partnership CAMHS Crisis Line on 020 3228 5980 between 9am and 11pm every day. This number is not changing.

πŸ”„ Please share this message with your networks to help spread the word.

A huge congratulations to Remy Wesolowski, who has successfully completed the National Three Peaks Challenge in support of our Trust charity, raising an incredible Β£1,709 so far!

Taking on one of the UK's toughest endurance challenges, Remy climbed the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales. πŸ₯ΎπŸ—»

Reflecting on the challenge, Remy said: "It was hard, but I did it! Finishing in 23 hours and 48 minutes is something I'm really proud of. It wasn't just a physical challenge. The lack of sleep meant it also required real mental endurance. There were tough moments along the way, but knowing I was raising money for our Trust charity kept me going. If anyone is thinking about taking on a challenge like this, I'd say train hard because you'll enjoy it so much more, make sure you pack plenty of tasty snacks, have a spa day booked afterwards, and most importantly, enjoy every moment!"

Every pound raised will help our Trust charity continue supporting patients, staff and services across our communities, making Remy's accomplishment even more meaningful. If you'd like to recognise Remy's incredible achievement and help raise even more money for our Trust charity, please consider making a donation via her JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/page/remy-wesolowski-1
