Autumn invites us back inside.

A time to gather inwardly, to be held, to sit in circle with other women and allow what wants and needs to unfold within.

Our Women’s Shadow Work Weekend is a small, intimate group of just 6–8 women, held at the beautiful Hackhurst Farm in East Sussex, 9–11 October.

There are only a few places left.

If you’re curious, get in touch, we always begin with a call, for your questions, hopes, worries and anything you want to know before deciding whether the weekend feels right for you.

If you’re curious, we’d love to hear from you.

All of you is welcome here. And we mean all of you. Not only the parts you’ve learnt are easy to show, acceptable to others.

If you’re curious about the Women’s Shadow Work Weekend, the first step is simply to get in touch.

You might feel excited and apprehensive. You might have questions about the work, the group, the venue or what you would actually bring to the weekend. You might know exactly what you want to explore, or have no idea at all. You may have hopes for what could become possible, alongside worries about what it might be like to be seen or to work in a group.

We welcome all of those conversations.
Before anyone books, we invite you to have a call with one of us. It gives us a chance to hear what is bringing you to the work, answer your questions and talk through hopes, fears or practical concerns. It also gives you the opportunity to get a sense of us and decide whether the weekend feels right for you.

There is no expectation that a conversation means you have decided to come.

All of you is welcome here. And we mean all of you. Not only the parts you’ve learnt are easy to show, acceptable to others, or safe to bring into the room.

One of the things we hear is: “I’m curious about the deeper parts of me I don’t yet know, but I don’t know what I’d actually work on.”

That’s completely fine. You don’t need a crisis, or a perfectly formed goal. We begin with you, where you are, and what you would like to be different.

If you’re wondering whether the weekend might be for you, message us. A conversation is a good place to start, and we’d love to hear from you if you’re curious.

Choosing to do deep personal work with someone deserves consideration. You may want to know who we are, how we work and whether you can imagine being in a room with us.

So, we’re introducing ourselves - Emma & Ruby

If you’re curious about the October weekend but haven’t quite made contact, come and have a conversation with us. No commitment required.

There can come a point when we know the territory extraordinarily well, thought and talked about it. Understood how we got this way, and probably recognised some of our repeating patterns, and still something keeps playing out or staying blocked.

Shadow Work offers a different kind of exploration. It is experiential. We can encounter and try out parts of ourselves that may be much less familiar than the ones we’ve spent years understanding.

To discover what else is possible, rather than eradicate our normal response we expand the choices we have in HOW to respond and be with ourselves, and life.

It’s a great three day women’s retreat to come to if you’re curious about what’s underneath, what’s possible, if you had connection to what’s been stuck in you. Get in touch, we’d love to book you in!

We all have our different ways of being and behaving, and how we understanding our worlds.

Some come so naturally that we barely notice ourselves using them. Yet other ways of being can feel unfamiliar, uncomfortable, challenging or even somehow ‘not for me’.

Shadow Work uses four archetypal energies as a map for exploring some of this stuff. There aren’t personality types to fit ourselves into, but more qualities that are universal and necessary to all of us to live our lives with fullness. Think of them as different human capacities we can draw upon as we meet relationships, conflict, uncertainty, pleasure, loss, possibility and change.

This work is about expanding our range and having greater choice about how we respond. What if the way you are stuck being wasn’t so limiting, how could life be?

Knowing your shadows and transforming how they got that way can be one of the greatest, bravest and most liberating acts you may engage in.

Just look at the colour of that water! 💙💚

The beautiful Blue Spring near Putāruru - one of those places where the water can almost look too clear and colourful to be real.

I particularly liked this view because you can see right through the water into all the plants and detail beneath the surface, while the rocky escarpment makes a rather dramatic backdrop.

It’s an extraordinarily lush little corner of the Waikato.

I’m been and still am, super busy this year, with all these things overlapping, some trainings ending (Shadow Work and IFS), and new beginnings - PgDip in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Westminster University, which started this Sept.

To work with the physical body, its systems and how nutrition supports health is one gift, but to delve deeper into our inner experiences, our emotional worlds, thoughts, embodied realities, stored histories…. The known and unknown - the beautiful tangled infinity of being human, that’s where my passion and focus is shining the light towards. 💡💡💡

IFS is where my heart lies as a practice and healing 1:1 therapy, and Shadow Work is a profound group model for personal transformation - my training and approach is, so far, ‘polyamorous’!

The next Shadow Work weekend with available places is
May 22-24th, all genders welcome.

I’m hoping to run a Women’s (all women welcome) Shadow Work Weekend next autumn…

Nutrition is still my day job, but 2026, will be a cross over year, as I am able to offer more therapy, and group work, meaning less time and focus on Nutrition .
