We are honoured to host the internationally recognised Japanese calligrapher Keisho Nishina at our London dojo this October with a weekend exhibition of her artwork.

Her captivating calligraphy is deeply influenced by Zen philosophy - exploring themes of impermanence, emptiness, compassion and interconnectedness through expressive brushwork.

This September we’ll be offering an online 8-week course in Meditation and Mindfulness. The course will cover a range of Zen meditation techniques and practices designed to explore what it means to develop a sense of physical and energetic grounding, and to have an understanding of yourself and the nature of reality.

Starting on Wednesday 23rd September, 19:30-21:00 (UK time).

Ideal for anyone wanting to get into meditation and mindfulness, and/or get a good grounding in the Zen practices from our tradition.

Have you ever wondered what truly separates one mindfulness training from another?

When Daizan Roshi — our founder and lead trainer — first became a Zen monk in his twenties, he didn’t go to study mindfulness from books. He lived it. Studying with Zen teachers and doing the deep, often unglamorous work of direct practice, day after day, year after year, for now over forty years.

He became the first Englishman to complete traditional Rinzai Zen training in Japan and become a Roshi. That depth of lived experience is what underpins everything we teach at Zenways.

This isn’t mindfulness handed down through book learning. It’s mindfulness carried through a living lineage — tested, refined and transmitted through generations of real practice.

If you’re curious about what training with that depth of foundation feels like, our next training course starts 18 September in the Scottish Highlands.

Some all round ceilidh fun for the while Zenways family at our Gathering weekend just gone at Halsway Manor .

Sadly too hot to be outside for the May Pole dancing, but we loved getting hot and sweaty inside to this wonderful music!
