I've practised Tai Chi for many years, so this new research particularly caught my attention.
A remarkable new umbrella review in the *British Journal of Sports Medicine* has brought together **92 systematic reviews and meta-analyses, covering 1,744 randomised controlled trials**, to examine the evidence for traditional Chinese exercises in musculoskeletal health.
The findings are genuinely fascinating — particularly around chronic pain, stiffness, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, physical function, sleep and mental health.
I've written about what the research actually found, what I think is particularly significant about it, and also what the evidence *doesn't* tell us.

**Tai Chi: What Does the Scientific Evidence Actually Show?**
As someone who has practised Tai Chi for a very long time, I'm especially interested in what happens when something that has traditionally been understood through Chinese medicine is examined through modern scientific research.
I'd be very interested to hear what other Tai Chi practitioners think.
