Yesterday evening, Josh, Jack and Ed attended the London Association of Funeral Directors (LAFD) Annual General Meeting, hosted by President Adrian Saville.

The evening was well attended and featured presentations from the The Worshipful Company of Upholders, Citation, and Rachel Bradbourne.

We also heard updates from the National Association of Funeral Directors, including from its new President, Julian Hussey, whom we wish every success in his presidency, alongside updates from Southern District.

Josh was pleased to provide an update on behalf of Western District in his capacity as Vice Chair.

At Brunskill Family Funerals, we believe it is important to remain actively involved in our profession, share knowledge, build relationships with fellow funeral directors, and support the continued development of funeral services.

Thank you to Adrian and everyone involved in organising an informative and worthwhile evening. It was a pleasure to join colleagues from across the profession.

‘One of our own’… as they say. It was an honour to lead the ceremony to give thanks for the life of Mick McDonnell - a well respected gent within the funeral profession who many people had the pleasure of working with over the years.
As his daughter said, he’d carried people all his life - as a chauffeur, a bus driver, a cabbie and a pallbearer, and as an all round lover of life as a positive, caring and fun man. We hope he appreciated the final song… ‘What An Atmosphere’ from the iconic Russ Abbot 🎶 🥳
Rest In Peace Mick. 🕊️

I had an early morning meeting at the beautiful location of Pembroke Lodge in Richmond Park… a meeting to discuss funerals and memorials doesn’t have to be in your home or at the Funeral Directors.

We’re proud to share that our own Joshua Brunskill has been nominated for Funeral Director of the Year at the Good Funeral Awards 2026. 💚💚

This recognition reflects not only the care, time, and attention he gives to every family, but also the values held across Brunskill Family Funerals. Treating every person with dignity, compassion, and respect.

Supporting families through some of life’s most difficult moments is a responsibility that is never taken lightly, and remains at the heart of everything we do.

For those who may have nominated him, thank you, it truly means a great deal.

Thank you, as always, for the trust placed in our care.
