Hadassah’s commitment to saving lives extends beyond the hospital walls.

When Dr Amos Fruman, a senior paediatric surgeon at Hadassah, stopped for fuel, he found a woman in labour.

He transformed the petrol station into an emergency delivery room and safely delivered her baby with the help of bystanders.

Mother and baby were later cared for at Hadassah Ein Kerem and were both in good condition.

Hadassah hosted the fifth annual meeting of the Israeli Translational Research Network, bringing together researchers, doctors and entrepreneurs from across Israel to explore converting medical research into real-world treatment.

The event featured Hadassah's leading specialists, including Prof Yaniv Sherer, Prof Eyal Mishani, Prof Aron Popovtzer and Prof Michal Lotem (who is visiting the UK later this year), discussing groundbreaking cancer immunotherapy, CAR-T therapy, precision medicine, mental health and women’s health.

The gathering showcased Hadassah’s link between research and medicine, driving innovation for patients in Israel and beyond.

At Hadassah Medical Organization, we are with you on this journey,” said Prof Shani Paluch-Shimon, Head of the Breast Oncology Unit, at a special conference for women living with metastatic breast cancer.

Held at Hadassah Ein Kerem and organised by the Sharett Oncology Institute and the Comprehensive Breast Care Centre, the event explored new advances in care, including liquid biopsies, treatment innovation and emotional support throughout the illness.

The conference offered knowledge, connection and support for patients navigating a complex and deeply personal journey.

European Association of Poisons Centres and Clinical Toxicologists Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania 2026.

Dr Waseem Mujahed, Hadassah emergency medicine specialist, presented Hadassah’s poster at this years conference, strengthening international partnerships and supporting the future development of Toxicology services at Hadassah Hospital.

Following last year’s conference in Glasgow, Dr Mujahed began a research collaboration with leading Clinical Toxicology experts, including EAPCCT President Prof Paul Dargan - Professor of clinical toxicology at King's College London and a consultant physician and clinical toxicologist at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Together, they have already completed their first multi-centre study on recreational drug toxicity.
