Been sitting a lot at your desk today or in a car? Try these simple movements to help release tension from your hips

Not every stretch feels the same… and that’s completely normal.

Our bodies are built differently, so it’s worth trying a few variations and finding the ones that actually work for you.
Always hr s adjust adapt accommodate eg use a cushion under your knee or don’t clasp hands behind thigh etc

Try them out and see which one your hips respond to best.

👉🏼 A few things to keep in mind:

• Focus on sensation, not what the pose looks like. You’re looking for a sensation through the glutes, not a “perfect” position.
Use cushions under your knees and go where your body naturally goes

Which is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!👇🏼

📌 Save this for your next hip mobility session and send it to someone who can never seem to find a glute stretch that works for them.

The pause is not wasted time.

In fact, it might be the thing you’re missing.

We’re very good at filling every gap:

📱 Scroll
📧 Check emails
📝 Add another task
☕ Make another coffee
🏃‍♀️ Rush to the next thing

And then we wonder why we’re exhausted.

Your body and mind need moments of recovery.

So today, try something different.

Take 5 minutes.

No phone.
No to-do list.
No productivity goal.

Just sit. Breathe. Look outside. Let your mind settle.

And notice the guilt if it appears.

You don’t have to do more to deserve rest.

Sometimes stopping is exactly what allows you to start again with more clarity and energy. 🌿

Try it today and tell me: could you give yourself five minutes without feeling guilty?

Meet your psoas a muscle you probably don’t think about until your hips or lower back start feeling tight.

Your psoas is a deep hip-flexor muscle connecting your lower spine with your thigh.

And if you’ve spent hours sitting at a desk, driving, travelling or simply not moving much, your hips may appreciate some gentle movement.

🌿 Try the movement in this reel slowly and comfortably.

Don’t force a big stretch.

Instead, focus on breathing, moving with awareness and noticing how your body feels before and after.

And remember: you don’t need to “release” or stretch your psoas aggressively to feel better. Sometimes gentle, consistent movement is exactly what your body needs.

Save this reel and come back to it after a long day of sitting.

How do your hips feel afterwards?

Are you living by habit or choice?

It’s so easy to slip into autopilot.

Same routines.
Same commitments.
Same reactions.
Same busy schedule.

Until one day you realise you’re spending a lot of your life doing things simply because that’s how you’ve always done them.

So today, pause and ask yourself:

🌿 What am I doing out of habit?
🌿 What no longer serves me?
🌿 Where could I make a more intentional choice?

You don’t need to reinvent your life.

One conscious choice can be enough to start changing the direction you’re heading in.

Don’t just live the day you’ve created by default. Create a day you actually want to live.

Wednesday mantra:
May I be happy,
May I be healthy
May I live with ease
🌻

Oh yes, that does help!

Be your own biggest cheerleader! And sometimes you may need to remove yourself from the people who don’t really support you. Just try to lean into believing in yourself! You’ve got this!

Want to know one really simple thing you can practise to support your balance as you get older?

Stand on one leg.

That’s it.

This is called a Flamingo balance, and it’s a great little exercise to challenge your stability, coordination and proprioception that’s your body’s awareness of where it is in space.

Start with your eyes open.

Stand near a wall or something sturdy to hold onto if you need it.

Lift one foot and see how you do.

And if that feels comfortable and safe, here’s the challenge…

Close your eyes.

You’ll probably notice that suddenly it’s much harder!

That’s because your vision is one of the systems your brain uses to help you balance.

You don’t need to stand here for ages. Just a few breaths on each leg, regularly, can give your balance system something to work with.

And remember wobbling isn’t failing.

Wobbling is information.

Your balance is a skill, and skills can be practised.

Give it a go today and tell me which leg was steadier? 🌻

What are you carrying that you don’t need to carry?

Sometimes we’re carrying far more than we realise.

A tense body.
A busy mind.
Other people’s expectations.
Guilt.
Worry.
The pressure to keep everything going.

And because we’ve carried it for so long, we start to think it’s normal.

But normal doesn’t mean necessary.

This week, pause and ask yourself:

🌿 What tension am I holding physically?
🌿 What emotion am I carrying?
🌿 What is taking up unnecessary space in my mind?
🌿 What could I put down?

You don’t have to solve everything.

Start with awareness.

Take a breath. Relax your shoulders. Sit quietly for a few minutes. Write down what’s on your mind.

Sometimes the first step towards feeling lighter is simply recognising what you’ve been carrying.

What are you ready to put down?

Try this tomorrow morning before you get out of bed. 🛌

One hand on your chest.
One around your abdomen or side ribs.

Relax your hands.

Then spend 5 minutes simply noticing your breath.

Slow.
Easy.
Unforced.

And while you’re there, smile to yourself and think of one thing you’re grateful for today.

It’s a tiny ritual, but it gives you something we so often miss in the morning:

a moment to connect with yourself before everyone and everything else gets your attention.

Try it for a week and notice:

✨ How you’re breathing
✨ How your body feels
✨ How quickly your mind gets busy
✨ Whether you feel more grounded as you start your day

You don’t need a complicated morning routine.

Sometimes 5 minutes of conscious breathing is enough to change the way you enter your day.

Save this and try it tomorrow. ❤️🌻🍦

Think calm people are just naturally calm? I don’t agree.”

1️⃣ Nobody is calm all the time
Even the calmest person you know will have stressful days, difficult conversations and moments when their emotions take over. Calm doesn’t mean never feeling stressed.

2️⃣ Regulation is something you can practise
Your nervous system responds to what you repeatedly do. Breathwork, yoga, meditation, relaxation and mindful pauses can all help you practise coming back to a steadier state.

3️⃣ Small daily habits build resilience
You don’t need an hour a day. Ten minutes of consistent practice can be far more valuable than doing a big session occasionally. You’re building the ability to notice stress earlier and respond differently.

Calm isn’t a personality trait. It’s a practice. And the more you practise it when life is going well, the more useful it becomes when life isn’t.

Calm isn’t something you’re born with. It’s something you practise. 🌻

Nobody is calm all the time.

Life will still throw stressful situations, difficult days and unexpected challenges at you.

The difference is learning how to come back to yourself when they do.

✨ Notice your breath
✨ Release tension from your body
✨ Pause before reacting
✨ Take a few minutes for meditation or relaxation
✨ Build small practices into your everyday life

You don’t need to wait until you’re overwhelmed to practise calm.

In fact, the best time to build resilience is when you don’t desperately need it.

Small, consistent practices teach your body that it can move from stress back towards steadiness.

That’s why I believe in simple practices that fit into real life.

Calm isn’t a destination. It’s a skill you keep practising.

What could you do for 5–10 minutes today to practise yours?
