Desk-bound and feeling the strain?

When you spend most of your day sitting, it is easy to reach mid-afternoon feeling tense, tired and uncomfortable. Your body is designed to move, and purposeful strength work can make a real difference to how you feel and function each day.

Pilates Mat Strength combines controlled Pilates movement with targeted strength exercises. Because every session is one-to-one, everything is adapted to your body, your current ability and what you want to achieve.

Perhaps you want to improve your posture, feel more stable, move with greater ease or simply become stronger for everyday life. We start where you are and build from there.

No crowded classes. No pressure. No one-size-fits-all programme. Just focused, personalised support at your pace.

Pilates has been part of my work for years. Paired with strength conditioning, it gives clients the control and stability that make everyday movement feel easier.

Swipe through to see how the two fit together, and why one without the other rarely gives you the full picture.

I run one-to-one strength and Pilates sessions in your own home in Fulham. If you'd like to find out more, there's a link in my bio.

A little help for the week ahead.
This recipe has been in my rotation for years, and I still make it regularly. When Monday hits, and there's no time to think, let alone cook, this is what I reach for. Five minutes, one blender, and you're properly nourished and ready to go.

400ml full-fat plain yoghurt

1 small banana
2 tbsp sunflower seeds or nuts
2 tbsp peanut butter
A pinch of cinnamon
A scoop of greens powder (optional)

Blend and drink.

It keeps me full, focused and energised without the slump you get from grabbing something that's quick but not actually doing anything for you.

Save this for those mornings when the week hits hard, or view the video on my YouTube channel. Link in bio.

Your body is constantly adapting to the demands you place on it.

If you spend most of your day sitting, your body becomes more efficient at sitting. If you move well, challenge your balance, build strength and maintain mobility, your body adapts to that too.

The good news? Your body is always listening.

Small, consistent movement habits can have a significant impact on how you feel, move and function over time.

Movement isn't about doing more. It's about doing what your body needs.

Before I work with anyone, I ask them to complete a health appraisal that covers 12 areas of function, from gut health and sleep to hormonal balance and cardiovascular health.

Not because I need to tick boxes. Because how you breathe, how you sleep and what you eat directly affects how your deep stabilising system works. Ignore those things, and you're building on unstable ground.

I've been a movement specialist for over two decades. I spent my early twenties as a professional ballet dancer. I've worked alongside GPs, physiotherapists and cardiologists. And the thing I keep coming back to is this: the body doesn't work in isolated parts. Neither should the programme.

If you've tried exercise before and it hasn't stuck, or hasn't helped, it might not be you. It might be the approach.

That pain in your lower back is trying to tell you something.

Most of the time it has a cause. The way you sit, the way you load one side of your body, a movement pattern that's been compensating for something for years. Those things can be identified and changed.

If your back has been a persistent problem and you've been told to just rest, stretch or push through, there's usually more that can be done.

I work one-to-one with adults in London. Details in my bio.
