• fuel anxiety and overthinking
• create pressure and perfectionism
• shrink your world (avoiding uncertainty)
• strain relationships (taking over, fixing, mistrust)
• disconnect you from your emotions
• undermine self-trust (“I can only cope if nothing goes wrong”)
