Fireworks can be beautiful, but for some of our clients, they can also be confusing or frightening.

At Rivendell, our amazing carers know that a little extra calm and compassion can make all the difference. 🌙

✨ Here are a few gentle ways to help:
🪟 Close curtains and windows to reduce noise and light.
🎶 Play soft music or familiar TV shows for comfort.
💬 Offer reassurance, a calm voice and kind words go a long way.
☕ Keep things cosy with a warm drink or favourite blanket.
💛 Most of all, be present. Your warmth and care help our clients feel safe, seen, and supported.

📢 Safe Moving & Handling – Remember LOLER!

When using hoists, slings, or any lifting equipment, always follow the LOLER rules (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) to keep everyone safe.

✨ Your Checklist:
✔️ Check equipment before every use
✔️ Only use if you’ve been trained
✔️ Follow the care plan & risk assessment
✔️ Use the right sling/hoist for the client
✔️ Report any damage or overdue inspections immediately

🛠️ Rivendell ensures all equipment is inspected every 6–12 months and staff get full training.
