Accelerator number three.

Hatch Enterprise | Business support for Entrepreneurs : foundations, purpose, a roadmap to the north star.

Foundervine Breakthrough: MVP, growth, systems, network.

Now Female Founders Rise | Entrepreneur Community : sharing with founders, meeting angels who believe in keeping people out of litigation.

Solo founder truth: a good programme is your board, your peer group and your accountability in one place.

Week one lesson: you are the pitch, mission is numbers, positioning is the unlock.

Ours: most conflict does not need a courtroom. It needs support.

Third time applying 🧗‍♀️

Over 200 founders applied.

38 of us were chosen.

I was one of them ✅

I am on the Female Founders Rise | Entrepreneur Community Fundraising Accelerator.

The first two times I applied I did not get in. I could have taken that as a sign.

Instead, I applied again.

I founded Brighter Future Mediation, a fully online family and workplace mediation service across England and Wales. We help separating parents and couples reach agreements about children, property and finances without a court battle. Our mediators are FMC and CMC registered, and bring diverse lived and working experience to their practice.

I spent 15 years working across the family court system. Then I went through it myself as a litigant in person, in both the family court and an employment tribunal. I have seen it from both sides of the desk. I started BFM after redundancy, with £400.

Since January 2025 we have supported more than 350 separating families.

Building the business was never the hard part. Funding it is.

The Rise Report, published by Female Founders Rise | Entrepreneur Community surveyed 2,225 UK female founders. 45% named funding as their single biggest barrier. In 2024, 2% of equity investment went to all-female founding teams, with over 80% going to all-male teams.

I would rather move that number, and show why it pays to invest in underrepresented founders, than complain about it.

If you are a founder sitting on a rejection this morning, in the words of Aaliyah, try again.

POV: my second public pitch, and we placed 2nd 🥈💚

Three minutes to make the case for keeping families out of court and children out of harm’s way.

Nerves, cue cards, and one very big number: 100,000 children stuck in the family court system.

Come behind the scenes of pitch day with me 🎬

Huge thanks to the judges .oye (and Oliver Woolley, Jessica Rasmussen & Peter Soliman), and to and for walking the walk when it comes to supporting female entrepreneurs 🙌

Let's bust a myth. Mediation is not about giving in.

It's not about compromise for the sake of it. It's not weakness.

Mediation is about taking control of your own outcome, instead of handing it to a judge who has never met you or your children.

It means having a real conversation. Being heard. Working out what actually matters to you and building an agreement around that.

No one gets everything they want in mediation. But in family court?

After 15 + years working in the system I never met anyone who felt they'd 'won' or that it had been positive.

Couples who reach agreements through mediation are more likely to stick to them, because they made them themselves.

That's not weakness. That's wisdom.

What a week.

It started with FFG Connect and and one takeaway that has stuck with me ever since. The 3 E’s. Engage, excite, execute. The way to progress and affect meaningful change!

Then this morning, Dean Forbes, CEO, gave up two hours of his Saturday morning to talk to us about the realities of his journey.

The real version, the mistakes and the wins- not the highlight reel. He even gave us access to his trusted financial advisor, who walked us through strategies and options I’d never considered.

Pen and pad put to good use- strategy incoming 📈

It is a whole new world for me. But the more I learn, the more I love it.

When someone who has built what Dean has built still shows up on a Saturday morning to pour into other founders, you remember why community matters. That is the difference between capital and the right capital. People genuinely invested in better outcomes.

Such an incredible privilege to be part of - if you don’t know, you better get to know. There’s power in community!

💔 Separation is already painful. Court makes everything harder.

Adversarial proceedings force you and your ex into opposing corners, often making an already difficult situation more hostile, more expensive, and more damaging for everyone involved.

Mediation is different. It's a calmer space. A chance to actually be heard. To speak without being cross-examined. To work through things without a judge, a barrister, and a courtroom audience.

Most of our clients tell us they feel clearer, calmer, and more in control after their very first session.

You don't have to go through this the hard way. We're right here > https://brighterfuturemediation.co.uk/need-a-miam/
