“Today, as we celebrate International Housekeeping week, I would like to take a moment to recognise and thank our wonderful housekeeping team.
In a care home, housekeeping is so much more than keeping rooms and communal areas clean and tidy. The work you do contributes directly to the comfort, dignity, safety, and wellbeing of our residents.
Every day, you work to make our home feel welcoming, fresh, comfortable, and cared for.
Whether it is making a resident’s room feel homely, keeping shared areas clean and pleasant, or paying attention to those little details that make such a big difference—your contribution is truly valued.
Our residents deserve to feel proud of their home, and you play an important part in creating that environment. Your work also supports the all-care team in maintaining high standards and ensuring that our home remains a safe and pleasant place for everyone.
I know that housekeeping can sometimes be a demanding and physically challenging role, as I was worked too previously and much of your hard work happens quietly, without always receiving the recognition it deserves.
That is why today is an opportunity for us to say thank you.
