What Do Cupping Marks Mean?
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Not all cupping marks are the same.
Traditional Chinese Medicine looks at the body as a whole, and cupping marks can offer one piece of the bigger picture.
Different colours may reflect different TCM patterns, including Qi stagnation, Blood stasis, Heat, or areas where circulation has been restricted. However, the colour of a cupping mark is never used on its own to diagnose a condition. Every treatment should be based on a comprehensive assessment by a qualified practitioner.
If you’ve ever wondered why your cupping marks look different each time, this post explains some of the traditional interpretations.
