The Mummy MOT

The Mummy MOT The Mummy MOT® is a 1-hour postnatal assessment from six weeks onwards. It will check your posture, breathing, tummy gap and pelvic floor strength.

The Mummy Mot is detailed postnatal physiotherapy assessment of the abdominal and pelvic area. You will receive a report of the findings on the day. Following the assessment an appropriate safe exercise programme will be prescribed.

What an incredible day at the Everywoman Festival, exhibiting in the Birth & Beyond tent! 💜

So proud to share a space with pioneering women genuinely changing the landscape of women's health. Our Mummy MOT practitioner network is growing fast — midwives, physios, osteos and fit pros, all united in helping women feel seen and supported postnatally. 🤰🏻

Huge thanks to Julie for creating such a brilliant festival, and to and for their continued support of this space.

A special thank you to our brilliant founder Maria who had an incredible week of engagements, and to our COO Kirstie — both tireless advocates for better postnatal health. The work you both do matters so much. 🙌

Hot weather hits differently when you're pregnant. Here's what's actually happening — and what helps. 🌡️

Your body temperature naturally rises during pregnancy, which means you overheat faster, tire more easily, and dehydrate more quickly than you might expect — especially right now.

The risks are real: dehydration, heat exhaustion, and reduced blood flow to your baby can all be triggered by extreme heat. As pre and postnatal health experts, we want every pregnant woman to have the information she deserves.

5 ways to stay cool this week:

☀️ Sip water little and often — don't wait until you feel thirsty
☀️ Choose loose, light-coloured cotton or linen
☀️ Stay in the shade between 11am–3pm where possible
☀️ Cool your neck and wrists with a cold flannel or cool water
☀️ Rest without guilt — heat fatigue in pregnancy is real

If you're feeling dizzy, confused, or can't cool down within 30 minutes, please seek medical attention. Your body is doing something extraordinary — look after it. 💙

Save this for the warm days ahead, or share with a mum-to-be who needs it.

Statement from Kirstie, Chief Operating Officer

The government has appointed Michelle Welsh MP as the UK's first National Maternity Advisor. For the thousands of women who have been failed by maternity services, this matters.

Too many mothers come through birth carrying injuries that go unidentified, trauma that goes unacknowledged, and pelvic health problems they are told are "normal." Too many are simply left to manage.

At The Mummy MOT, we have always said that maternity safety does not end when a baby is born. A safer maternity system means mothers are heard. It means injuries are identified. It means postnatal recovery is taken seriously not treated as an afterthought.

brings lived experience to this role. She knows what it means to be a harmed mother. The National Maternity and Neonatal Taskforce will now develop an action plan covering the full maternity journey including postnatal care and hold the NHS to account for real improvements. ✔️

We welcome this step. And we will keep advocating loudly for every woman who deserves proper postnatal support.

Postnatal care is not a luxury. It is healthcare.

📅 Join us on Wednesday, 6 May at 11am

This session will focus on pelvic girdle pain, a common but often misunderstood condition affecting women during pregnancy and beyond.

There’s something about this time of year… 🌸

A sense of renewal in the air.
Longer days, softer light, everything beginning to bloom again.

For many, Easter is a time of hope, reflection, and new life.
And even beyond faith, spring reminds us that change is always possible.

Your body is no different.

After pregnancy, birth, or simply the weight of life, your body deserves patience — not pressure.
Space to rebuild. Time to reconnect. Support to feel strong again.

This season, we’re celebrating:
✨ gentle recovery
✨ rebuilding strength
✨ honouring the power of the feminine body

Because “new life” doesn’t just mean babies —
it means you, too.

Wishing you a peaceful and hopeful Easter, however you’re spending it 💛
