Ensuring dignity in every farewell through a personalised ceremony with or without religious aspects for your loved one Every Funeral Celebrant has something individual to offer and we all do things in a slightly different way, and I am no exception to that rule. Helping people through the worst stages in their life is what I do best. Aside from my work as a Civil Funeral Celebrant I'm also a registered nurse, midwife and a Samaritan volunteer. I'm trained, certified and accredited by the United Kingdom Society of Celebrants - all of these credentials are fully verifiable on request. Sunderland-born PC Keith Blakelock, aged 40 and a father of three, had been trying to protect fire-fighters tackling a blaze at the Broadwater Farm estate in Tottenham, north London, when they were attacked by an angry mob.

Three men, who later became known as the Tottenham Three, were convicted of his murder but they were cleared on appeal, amid claims the evidence in the case may have been fabricated.

PC Blakelock was posthumously awarded the Queen's Medal for Bravery. As of 2026 there has never been a successful conviction for his murder

The bombs targeted the Horse and Groom and the Seven Stars public houses in Guildford. Four people were wrongly convicted for the crime and spent almost 15 years in prison after the Court of Appeal ruled the police fabricated evidence. They became known as the Guildford Four. Although the Provisional IRA claimed responsibility for the atrocity, nobody has ever been convicted

Today is World Alzheimer’s Day, a global day dedicated to raising awareness, sharing information, and challenging the stigma surrounding Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia

More than 55 million people worldwide live with Alzheimer's and dementia. Stigma and silence often stop people from seeking help early. Open conversations reduce fear and isolation. Unpaid family members and professional carers provide vital daily support. They need our recognition and resources.

Talk openly about brain health and dementia signs, such as memory loss, confusion, or trouble with familiar tasks. Purple is the international colour for the Alzheimer's Movement, so display purple ribbons or clothing to show solidarity with those affected. Advocate for continued investment in scientific breakthroughs and accessible care.

Visit the Alzheimer's Society or Alzheimer's Disease International to learn more about how you can get involved today

You never know what someone is carrying behind a smile.

Su***de awareness is about breaking the silence, listening without judgment, and reminding people that they don’t have to face their darkest moments alone.

If you’re struggling, please talk to someone you trust. Reaching out isn’t weakness - it’s courage. And if someone reaches out to you, listen. Sometimes simply being there can make a difference.

Check in. Listen. Stay. Speak up.

If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, contact emergency services or a local crisis service.

A celebrant led funeral doesn’t mean leaving faith behind. It means creating a service that reflects the person- including the beliefs and traditions that mattered to them
