You are allowed to find this hard.
Living with food allergy can bring a lot of worry for families.
Checking labels. Eating somewhere new. Starting school. Birthday parties. Holidays. Making sure medication is always close by.
And then, as children get older, learning when to step back and let them start managing some of those things for themselves.
It can be a lot. We know that because we speak to ACE families every day.
➡️ You can be confident managing your child's allergy and still worry.
➡️ You can be well prepared and still think about the 'what ifs'.
➡️ You can want your child to become more independent and find letting go difficult.
This , we want to recognise that side of food allergy too.
Good allergy care isn't only about avoiding a reaction, but about helping children and their families live well with food allergy.
So, to every allergy family navigating the worries alongside the everyday moments, we see you. 💜
You are allowed to find some days harder than others, and both the ACE and Allergy Assist team are here for you. Our Lead Psychologist Dr Karen Murphy also shares further advice, guidance and support on her channels - Dr Karen Murphy- Allergy Psychologist
