At the intersection of humanity, vulnerability and brilliance lies a truly special book and I cannot wait to share it with you.

A heartfelt thank you to our publishers, PCCS BOOKS LTD, and to the extraordinary authors whose words and wisdom have helped bring this 2nd revolutionary book to life. It has been an honour for both Dwight and I, to hold and shape this work together.

Dear friends, an announcement for you!

What you see before you are the faces of two very happy co-editors, because the book, Black Men Trauma and Therapy; Revolutionising therapeutic thought and practice is finally finished!!!

Over the next few weeks we will not only be revealing the front cover, but we hope to announce a number of events, both online and in person, to celebrate this book as it comes out into the world , so please do look out for these.

In the meanwhile, please join us, and our wonderful contributors to whom we are eternally thankful, in celebrating this very important stage of the publishing process.

The Voice is saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Aggrey Burke - the first Black consultant psychiatrist in the NHS. 🙏🏾

During his 40-year-long career he fought tirelessly against discrimination in healthcare - including tackling racism in medical schools and offering psychological support to those traumatised by the New Cross fire in 1981.

Among those paying tribute to Dr. Burke is , his close friend, who said:

"He was not only a friend but also a mentor who challenged psychiatry and the NHS regarding the overrepresentation of Black individuals in the mental health system".

Rest in Eternal Peace Dr. Burke. ❤️🕊️

This , we celebrate Helen George, a BACP Accredited Psychotherapist and Trauma Therapist whose compassionate care is transforming support for Black women navigating miscarriage, infertility and involuntary childlessness. With over 18 years of experience, Helen provides specialised reproductive trauma therapy and aims to create safe spaces for healing and empowerment. As a PhD researcher at the University of Chester, she explores the psychological impact of infertility for Black women in the UK, working to improve culturally competent care. This Black History Month, we honour Helen for her dedication to uplifting Black women’s voices and experiences in fertility and reproductive health.
