✅ 1. Daily skin check

• Observe colour, temperature and texture.
• Look for areas that feel firm, stiff or show changes in colour.
• Check for marks from your compression garment that could turn into fibrosis.

💧 2. Internal and external hydration

• Drink water every 2–3 hours.
• Use a gentle moisturiser on non‑treated areas to avoid dryness caused by anaesthesia.
• Avoid heavy creams directly on the incision.

🚶‍♀️ 3. Gentle movement every 2–3 hours

• Short walks.
• Slow, controlled movements of arms and legs.
• Avoid lying down all day — it increases the risk of blood clots.

🩶 4. Compression garment without folds or excessive pressure

• Even, smooth fit with no deep marks.
• Ensure it doesn’t slip or fold.
• Change pads or dressings if they become damp.

🩹 5. Incision care

• Keep the area clean and dry.
• Do not remove dressings unless instructed.
• Monitor for odour, discharge or warmth.

👐 6. Pain‑free massage

• Massage should feel light, warm and relieving.
• Pain is NOT a sign of effectiveness.
• Avoid therapists who “press hard” or claim to “break fibrosis”.

🍽️ 7. Anti‑inflammatory nutrition

• Fruit, vegetables and clean protein.
• Avoid salt, fried foods and sugar.
• Herbal teas like ginger or chamomile support drainage.

🌡️ 8. Monitoring warning signs

• Fever.
• Increasing pain.
• Redness or warmth.
• Sudden swelling in one leg.
• A firm area that does not improve.

📞 9. Communication with your therapist

• Send photos if you notice any changes.
• Ask before applying any product.
• Adjust massage frequency according to your progress.

🛌 10. Strategic rest

• Sleep in the recommended position.
• Avoid sleeping face‑down.
• Do not lift heavy objects.

“Lymphatic drainage is essential because it helps your body remove the excess fluid that builds up after surgery. This reduces inflammation, improves circulation, decreases swelling, and prevents fibrosis, allowing for a smoother, faster and more comfortable recovery.

✨Lymphatic drainage is a gentle yet deeply effective technique that helps your body eliminate excess fluid, reduce inflammation, and enhance your overall sense of wellbeing.

When performed correctly, your lymphatic system responds in a clear and measurable way. In this carousel, I highlight three real, physiological signs that indicate your drainage is working properly:
-body lightness, increased urination, and reduced swelling.

These responses not only confirm that the technique has been applied appropriately, but also show that your body is activating its natural detoxification processes.

If you don’t notice these signs, it may be time to review the frequency of your sessions, the technique being used, or the experience of the professional treating you.

Lymphatic drainage isn’t magic — it’s pure physiology. And when it’s done well, your body makes it evident. ✨⚕️

“Is your lymphatic drainage actually working? 💉⚕️✨
Softer tissue, less tightness, less swelling.
If it stays hard → early fibrosis.

Today we answered the most common post‑op questions:

💗 Why do I need lymphatic drainage?
After surgery, your body retains fluid, inflammation and lymphatic congestion. Drainage helps move all of that and prevents fibrosis.

💗 Do post‑op massages hurt?
No. Proper lymphatic drainage is gentle and relaxing. If it hurts, it’s not correct drainage.

💗 Why do small lumps or hardness appear?
It’s accumulated fluid or the beginning of fibrosis. With the right technique, it softens.

💗 How many sessions do I need?
Between 8 and 12. Inflammation changes weekly, and fibrosis appears between weeks 2 and 5 — consistency is key.
