🩻 Can you spot the injury?
At first glance, this X-ray might not look too unusual… but look closely. 👀
This patient has a dislocated fifth metacarpal (the bone leading to the little finger) following a traumatic hand injury.
A dislocation like this can cause:
🤕 Severe pain
✋ Swelling and deformity
💥 Difficulty gripping or making a fist
⚠️ Reduced hand function
The good news? With prompt assessment, appropriate treatment, and the right rehabilitation, most people can regain excellent hand function.
Don’t ignore a painful hand injury—what seems like “just a sprain” could be something much more significant.
