A peek into our Level 1 Stretch Therapy course 👀
We’re at the beginning of day 2 doing a full run-through of the lower body sequence.
The participants are working through the same sequence at the same time, focusing on the positioning and setup of each individual stretch. This re-enforces the logical progression from stretches that cross one joint, to stretches that cross two joints; and progressing through the planes of motion.
At this stage, we’re not thinking about flow or fancy variations. The priority is understanding the mechanics properly first. Where does the therapist stand? What angle is the client’s leg? Where should your hands be placed?
We teach the work first as a specific choreography because it helps our students learn the “what goes where” much faster, building confidence through repetition.
Advanced techniques like PNF, contract/relax, and breathing cues only work well if the fundamentals underneath them are solid.
So Level 1 is about building a very clear technical foundation first. Organised. Specific. Detailed. Then we layer in the more advanced concepts.
No madness - all method.
Our next Level 1 course is July 24-26. Join us to start your Stretch Therapy journey.
