She has undertaken specialist post-graduate training in Performing Arts Medicine with the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine and PAMA, the Performing Arts Medical Association in America. She also has undertaken post

graduate training inLaryngeal Osteopathy with Jacob Lieberman and is a member of the British Vocal Association and is a post graduate qualified Paediatric Osteopath. She has worked as a lecturer to undergraduate osteopathic students and as an examiner for final year clinical competence exams. Alison has worked with GPs in Sussex and London. She set up her own private practice in West London in 1994 which since 2003 has been located in Hammersmith. Whilst she sees patients from all different backgrounds and professions she specialises in helping performers; both professional and amateur, and has a particular interest in musicians and singers. She is also regularly called on as an Occupational Osteopath to advise companies and organisations on how they can improve the set up of their offices, work and performance space to prevent injuries and health problems.

Excellent conference today on sleep medicine at the Royal Society of Medicine. I like the phrase one consultant used to describe all the cycles of sleep as the symphony that is played in our brains every night in our brains. Sleep is as important as diet and exercise for our long term health.

Great lecture on the gut microbiome at the Royal Society of Medicine and how important it is for good health. So pleased he mentioned that calorie counting is flawed science and that it is the quality thee as t matters and over 30 veg, fruit nuts, seeds spices needed to feed the microbiome. But Coffee, red wine and beer also feeds the gut microbiome! 🍷😃 Unfortunately takes 20 years for research to become established practice in medicine. But it is now 20 years old in the uk so hopefully soon…
