Two wonderful Care Professionals and two lovely reasons to celebrate! 💐
Nicola has been part of Home Instead for almost ten years, building genuine relationships with her clients and their families and always advocating for the people she supports.

When we asked her favourite thing about being a Care Professional, she couldn't choose just one:

“Everything! No, really, everything. I enjoy the clients, I enjoy working with other people, I enjoy the office staff. We've got a lovely team here as well because we all get on so well”

And Habeeba's pride in being a Care Professional shines through too:

“I'm really proud to be working with Home Instead. And if we don't come here then we miss them. And that's why I've been working for three years continuously and I'm always telling everyone I'm very proud to work for Home Instead.”

It was lovely to present them both with some flowers as a small token of our appreciation.

Another wonderful achievement for our team! 🎉

A huge congratulations to our Senior Client Service Manager, Laura Lockley, who has been named a finalist in the Dignity in Care Award category for the London region at The Great British Care Awards 2026!

Laura's commitment to person centred care is reflected in the time she takes to understand each client as an individual, ensuring their wishes, choices and dignity remain at the heart of the support they receive.

Her compassion, attention to detail and dedication to both clients and their families make a meaningful difference, particularly during some of life's more challenging moments.

The Forget Me Not Café in Bickley offers a welcoming space for people experiencing memory difficulties, their families, friends and carers.

Held at St Augustine’s Church, the monthly café is an opportunity to spend time together, enjoy conversation and connect with others in a friendly and supportive environment.

During World Alzheimer’s Month, we’re highlighting some of the dementia friendly activities and support available across the Borough of Bromley. Knowing what’s available locally can help people living with memory difficulties and those supporting them stay connected to their community.

Having somewhere welcoming to meet others can make such a difference for people living with dementia and their loved.

The Light Café in Bromley is one of the dementia friendly places helping to provide just that. Based at The Salvation Army on Ethelbert Road, close to Bromley South station, the café is open to everyone and offers a relaxed place to enjoy a drink, spend time with others and feel part of the local community.

As we continue to mark World Alzheimer’s Month, we wanted to highlight some of the brilliant dementia friendly places we have locally and The Light Café is a lovely one to know about.

Sometimes it’s the simple things that matter most. A friendly face, somewhere comfortable to go and the opportunity to enjoy a little company.

As we mark World Alzheimer’s Month, it’s also a good opportunity to highlight some of the fantastic dementia friendly activities available right here across the Borough of Bromley.

One of these is , who offer a range of activities designed to help people living with dementia stay active, social and connected.

From dementia friendly bowling and golf to group exercise activities, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved, with trained volunteers and Primetime Buddies there to offer support.

We’ve seen first hand just how welcoming and enjoyable their sessions can be and they’re always a pleasure to work with.

Here’s a little glimpse of one of Primetime by Mytime Active seated exercise sessions at a local coffee morning sponsored by Home Instead. It’s a lovely example of how gentle movement can bring people together, encourage activity and, most importantly, be good fun!

⚽️ What a brilliant morning at the Spirit of Bromley event at The Glades, Bromley!

Our Business Development Manager, Jo, had a great morning joining and Bromley Borough Rotary Club , meeting members of our local community and chatting about the importance of staying active and connected at every age.

It was also a great opportunity to spread the word about Sporting Memories at Bromley FC, bringing people together through shared sporting memories, conversation and good company.

A huge congratulations to our Registered Manager, Sarah Larden, who has been named a finalist in the Lifetime Achievement category at The Social Care Leadership Awards 2026!

With 30 years dedicated to care, Sarah’s journey began as a Care Professional before she worked her way up to become a Registered Manager.

Despite the progression in her career, Sarah has never lost her connection with the people at the heart of care. She remains closely involved with clients, families and Care Professionals, bringing decades of experience and a calm, person centred approach to her role.

Being recognised as a finalist for Lifetime Achievement is a wonderful acknowledgement of Sarah’s longstanding contribution to care and the difference she continues to make.
