The Pelvic Pain Clinic was set up by Karl Monahan, a pelvic pain therapist with 5 years of experience in the treatment of type 3 non-bacterial Prostatitis and CPPS. Having suffered with Chronic Pelvic Pain for many years he understands what many Urologists and Dr’s simply cannot. His empathetic approach focuses on modern pain management, self-care techniques and lifestyle adaptation. He believes all patients should be the driver in their recovery, that the therapist should merely be the facilitator and educator. Karl gives his patients the tools with which they can manage and reduce their own symptoms, he emphasises the importance of patients taking back control of their lives

Time for another success story.

Dan's symptoms began after a new sexual partner. Burning on urination. He did everything right — home testing kits, two separate clinics, repeated tests. All negative. Then the symptoms shifted. General burning, perineum discomfort, sitting became uncomfortable, getting up seven times a night to p*e. Six courses of antibiotics. A private pelvic scan costing £400. A urologist who saw him for ninety seconds and said prostatitis. Alpha blockers he couldn't stand. Nothing worked.
