Day 10 of showing my stoma bag everyday 💖

Won’t stop talking about how hot it is here again 🥵

Which means only means two things - more excuses for evening drinks and even more important to keep drinking electrolytes to stay hydrated with a stoma 💧

Everyone calls this my unicorn juice 🦄😂

Every body is a bikini body 💕

A stoma or scars don’t have to stop you wearing a bikini or enjoying the sunshine.

Wear what makes you feel confident and comfortable 🤍

Made this video on the way home from drinks after shamelessly filming the cringiest content in the toilet! 😅

But honestly… this little bag has changed EVERYTHING.

Instead of constantly disappearing every few minutes because of my Crohn’s, I actually get to stay, chat, laugh, and enjoy the evening.

Day 7 of showing my stoma bag every day 💫

Can you go swimming with a stoma?

Absolutely! 🏊🏼‍♀️

I choose to wear a stoma support band when I swim because my core is still rebuilding after my stoma and proctectomy surgery. It helps me feel more supported and confident in the water.

And yes… with the swim hat and goggles I felt a little ridiculous 😂

Everyone’s recovery is different, so always do what feels right for you 🤍

Day 6 of showing my stoma bag everyday

Today we did a sauna and ice bath session 🔥❄️

One of the biggest things my stoma has taught me is that it doesn’t have to stop me doing the things I love.

It’s just along for the ride ☺️

Day 5 of showing my stoma bag everyday

Thanks to my stoma bag, the simple things feel simple again.

Everything used to revolve around the toilet. Multiple trips before leaving the house, planning whether I could eat beforehand and then knowing where the next loo would be.

Now it’s as simple as getting ready, emptying and leaving the house.

This is my experience and my story 💚

Day 4 of showing my stoma bag everyday

You can still exercise, workout, and go to the gym with a stoma 🏋🏽‍♀️

You just need to adapt a little. I’m 8 months post surgery and still working on rebuilding my core. Whenever I’m in the gym I wear my stoma support belt to help with reducing the risk of getting a hernia.

Everyone recovers differently, every body is different and you shouldn’t compare your recovery to others ❤️‍🩹

Day 3 of showing my stoma bag every day 💖

What can you wear with a stoma? Anything that makes you feel good. This includes jeans! I prefer high waisted jeans but everyone with a stoma will find what works best for them.

Day 2 of showing my stoma bag every day 💫

Having a stoma can feel incredibly overwhelming and uncomfortable at times. It’s something that makes us different - and most people hate to stand out. But a stoma bag is nothing to be ashamed of.

Visibility matters 💜

Day 1 of showing my stoma bag every day because the more we see them, the more normal they become.

Seeing others show their stoma bags played a huge part of me accepting mine. Stomas are just another part of life, and seeing them openly helps remove the stigma around them.

Question for all ostomates - do you prefer wearing yours tucked in or tucked out? 💬
