4 Minutes First Aid Training

Last Saturday, a fantastic group of Emmett's Genies volunteers spent the day completing Mental Health First Aid training ahead of this year's Year in a Day event.

A huge thank you to Chris from 4 Minutes First Aid Training for delivering such an engaging and valuable course. Andy and the team at 4 Minutes First Aid are incredibly generous supporters of Emmett's Genies and kindly provided the training completely free of charge. We are so grateful for your continued support. 💜

We'd also like to thank our Ambassador, Mike Pearse, for once again allowing us to use Ashmead Combined School as the venue for the training. Your ongoing support of our charity means so much.

Supporting families of critically and terminally ill children at our Year in a Day is about creating magical memories. At times we need to be there to listen, offer reassurance and signpost towards the right support when it's needed most.

Thanks to this training, our volunteers now feel confident in their roles as Mental Health First Aiders, ready to support both our beneficiary families and our amazing volunteers during this year's Year in a Day event.

Thank you to everyone who gave up their Saturday to invest in learning new skills. Together, we're making sure every family who joins us feels safe, supported and cared for. 💜✨

A little reminder from us to help get you quickly into the festival site...

Please do bring:
✔️ Your tickets - we will be scanning you in and giving you a wristband on entry
✔️ Picnics, picnic blankets and fold away chairs
✔️ Soft drinks in commerically sealed containers of no more than 500ml
✔️ Suncream - let's stay sun safe!
✔️ Your dancing shoes

Please do not bring:
❌ Your own alcohol - we are a licensed venue and you can buy alcohol and soft drinks on site
❌ Gazebos, tents or BBQs
❌ Glassware or metal cutlery
❌ Drones
❌ Fireworks
❌ Your pets - only assistance dogs are permitted on site

4 Minutes has been using a mixture of female and male manikins for a few years now to help destigmatise and has recently also started equipping them with bras that the learners on some courses have to cut off to defibrillate.

It doesn't say in the article, but roughly for every 4 men in Cardiac Arrest that receive CPR in the street, only 3 women will in the same situation. Let's hope this initiative helps.

A charity says people can be hesitant to give women CPR as they are reluctant to touch their chests.

It doesn't matter how good your Business is if no-one knows about you.

A large percentage of our clients return when they need more training. Not everyone does, that can be for all sorts of reasons and so Marketing is a core part of any Business strategy to keep growing the Business.

This is why 4 Minutes First Aid Training is thrilled to be a sponsor of next month's Long Walk Live music Festival in Windsor. Whilst we don't expect to sign as many new Clients as a Business Show might it is allowing us to support a local event, get our name out there and, frankly, have a fun weekend.

It's on 26/27 June and we will have a Gazebo there with games, competitions and freebies as well as a Bargain Basement Box. If you are at the Festival do come and say 'hi' and show us how good your First Aid skills are. You could win a prize. Just try not to collar us during Chesney Hawkes, please 😁
