Benedicts Law 💚
——-
Being a parent is a worrying task, and being a parent of a child with an allergy is even more worrying, especially as they start school.
😬
We welcome the roll out of Benedicts Law across all primary schools in England from yesterday 1st September, as this will provide parents with some re assurance when it comes to managing their childs allergies properly, when in their school setting.
Every staff member is now required to have had allergy and anaphylaxis training to understand the whole school allergy policy, the symptoms of an allergic reaction and how to administer auto injectors when required.
A childs FIRST allergic reaction may happen in school so parents of undiagnosed children can also be reassured to know that schools are required to have spare auto injectors.
40% of all children have an allergy and a previous reaction cannot dictate a future one.
Well done to all primary schools in Kent for your brilliant efforts so far.
