🐾💙 What a Wonderful Afternoon with Syd! 💙🐾

Yesterday , we had the pleasure of welcoming Syd the Therapy Greyhound to Sandmere for his very first visit, accompanied by his owner, Victoria.

Syd was an absolute star, spending time with our residents, accepting plenty of fuss and attention, and bringing smiles wherever he went. His calm and gentle nature made him an instant favourite, and it was lovely to see the comfort, companionship, and happiness he brought to everyone he met. 🐶✨

A huge thank you to Victoria for bringing Syd along and helping make the afternoon so special. We think Syd has made lots of new friends today and we hope this will be the first of many visits to Sandmere! ❤️

🐾 A Special Visitor Arriving Today! 🐾
We’re very excited to welcome Syd the Therapy Greyhound to our home for his very first visit today! 💙

Joining us alongside his human, Victoria, Syd will be spending time with our residents from 2:00pm for a 45-minute session. We can't wait for everyone to meet him and enjoy all the comfort, companionship, and wagging tails he brings with him! 🐶✨

🌟 Happy Monday, Everyone! 🌟

We’re kicking off an exciting week and a fantastic end to the month here at Sandmere 🎉

Today, we’re delighted to welcome Jon Beetham back for our regular Interactive Music for Dementia session.

Tomorrow we have our very first visit from Syd The Therapy Greyhound, We can’t wait to welcome him and his human Victoria to our home.

There’s plenty more to look forward to throughout the week, so be sure to check out our schedule of activities and events. From entertainment and social gatherings to creative and wellbeing sessions, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! 💙

Good evening everyone - if you're seeing this twice, it's because our page was so excited to share some photos, it made duplicate albums 😅

Thank you all for your patience as we sorted through the many photos from our activities and events this year. The last 5 months have been very busy, with celebrations of Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Easter and St George's & VE Day. We also had our first cinema outing to the Carlton cinema, painted flower pots in preparation for summer plants, spent much time in the garden & celebrated many birthdays! On rainy days, we had fun with carnival games, music groups, arts and crafts, cake making and quizzes.

Thank you also to all our entertainers and regular visitors; Tara James - Entertainer and Jon Beetham for music and keeping our toes tapping; ZooLab and Banks the Therapy Donkey for animal therapy and informative hands on learning; and of course to our personal trainer Mark Hawkridge who keeps us active and moving every Wednesday.

Visiting us this weekend? Check out our new Garden & Greenhouse Stall! Thanks to the hard work of resident Jim & his family, we currently have two varieties of tomato plants on sale and if you're lucky, some pumpkin plants too.

These can be purchased from reception (cash only please), and we will be adding more plants and flowers as our garden blooms.
