The aesthetics industry rebranded medicine as retail. I didn’t get the memo.
I don’t have “clients.” I have patients.
That’s not a branding choice it’s a clinical one. It means:
🌟A full medical history before I pick up a needle
🌟Consent that’s actually informed, not just signed
🌟Documentation, follow-up, and duty of care
🌟Saying no when it’s not right for you, even if it costs me the sale.

Somewhere along the way, injectables became an impulse buy: loyalty cards, flash sales, “treatments” sold like lash extensions. I get why it happened. I just refuse to be part of it.
If you want a quick fix from someone who’s optimising for upsells, that’s not me.
If you want a practitioner who treats your face like it matters, that’s who I am.

Drop a 🙋‍♀️ if you’ve ever felt rushed through a “consultation” that was really just a sales pitch.

3 LIES social media keeps feeding you about collagen: from someone who actually treats skin for a living and loves judging you!

1. Powder won’t rebuild your dermis. The evidence for oral collagen is thin and inconsistent & nowhere near what the marketing promises.

2. A jade roller is not a clinical device. Relaxing, sure. Collagen-inducing? Deffo not.

3. RF microneedling doesn’t “inject” collagen into you. Or whatever they claim.

It creates controlled micro-injury plus heat, which triggers your skin to clear out old, tired cells and rebuild with fresh, active ones = cellular renewal. New collagen is the result of that renewal, not the treatment itself.

Renewal first. Collagen after. That’s the actual science.

Thank you British Association of Medical Aesthetic Nurses (BAMAN) ❤️❤️❤️ Not being dramatic but this is genuinely one of the only awards in this industry you cannot buy, sponsor your way into, or pay a “growth agency” for 😁 and voted by nurses too. People who actually know the difference between education and a filtered before/after.

So to everyone who’s ever sent me a “wait is this actually true?” DM, watched a 2am anatomy reel, or laughed at the unhinged clinic content, thank you. Turns out oversharing about vascular occlusion risk and calling out the Prime Minister on under researched perimenopause diagnosis between memes was a strategy all along.
