Well today at Riverside House we were certainly feeling HOT HOT HOT! ☀️🔥

We’ve had the most wonderful afternoon spending time with the family and friends of Riverside House, and what an afternoon it has been! ❤️

We were treated to some fantastic music from the fabulous duo ‘Just James’ 🎶🎤. Our residents sang along to some of their favourite songs, and some even managed to get up and have a little boogie! 💃🕺

We were also treated to a delicious buffet, lovingly prepared by our wonderful chef, followed by a selection of absolutely scrumptious cream cakes! 🍰😋

We really have had the best afternoon ever, and I’m sure you can see just how much fun we’ve had from some of our photos! 📸🥰

A HUGE special thank you must go to all of our amazing Riverside staff today. You all pulled together to make an afternoon like this happen for our wonderful residents, and your hard work, dedication and teamwork never go unnoticed. ❤️👏

We’d also like to say a special thank you to some of our residents’ families who stayed behind and helped with the aftermath — it was very much appreciated! 🥰

I can definitely say that some of our residents will be sleeping very well tonight! 😂💤

🌟🎶 Oh my… what an absolutely amazing entertainer! 🎶🌟

We had the absolute privilege of welcoming the wonderful Mr Derek Hodgson to Riverside House today, and what a performance he gave! ❤️

From start to finish, Derek had us completely entertained. We sang, we danced, and we laughed — there were smiles all around! 🕺💃🎤😂

A huge thank you to Derek for putting so many smiles on so many faces. Our residents haven’t stopped talking about you since you left! 🥰

✨ A Wonderful Day by the Coast! 🌊☀️

Today, some of our lovely residents from Riverside House enjoyed a fantastic day out exploring our beautiful Northumberland coastline.

Our first stop was Amble Harbour, where we took in the breathtaking views, enjoyed the fresh sea air, met some adorable furry friends, and had lovely chats with some of the friendly local residents.

Next, we travelled to The Drift Inn Café in Cresswell, where everyone tucked into a delicious lunch and enjoyed great food in wonderful company.

With full tummies, we climbed back aboard the bus and headed to Blyth Promenade, where we relaxed by the seafront while treating ourselves to a well-deserved ice cream. 🍦💙

A wonderful day was had by all, filled with laughter, friendship, and special memories.

A huge thank you goes to Sandra & Yvonne from our Activities Team, Tanecia, one of our wonderful Health Care Assistants, and Simon, our fantastic driver from WatBus, for helping make today so special.

We are all feeling happily exhausted after such a lovely adventure, but we already can’t wait to see where our next outing takes us!

✨ WOW… What an absolutely amazing Summer Fair we’ve had today! ☀️🎉

Where do we begin? There are so many people to thank for making today such a huge success.

Firstly, a massive thank you to Tracy, our Head Housekeeper, and Andrea, our Chef. Without the incredible support you’ve given me (Yvonne, Activities Coordinator), I simply wouldn’t have been able to achieve everything we did today. Your help has meant so much, and I am truly grateful.

A huge thank you also goes to Anna, one of our wonderful Housekeepers, who put together a fantastic craft stall in just a matter of days, along with all of our other talented craft sellers who joined us today.

Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who gave up their time to help run the stalls, and all those that have donated prizes and gifts towards our raffles and tombola’s. To the fabulous Gladwin Dancers for opening our Summer Fair with such a wonderful performance, Northumbria Fire & Rescue Service for coming along, Izzy for doing an incredible job with the face painting, and Pete for keeping everyone entertained with an hour of fantastic songs through the decades.

Last, but certainly not least, thank you to all of our wonderful residents, families, friends and the incredible staff at Riverside House. Your support, generosity and community spirit are what make days like today so special.

❤️ Together, we raised an incredible £1,076.06 for our Residents’ Fund! What an absolutely astonishing amount! We cannot thank you all enough for your continued support and generosity—it will make such a difference for our residents.

🎨🌴 A wonderfully peaceful morning at Riverside House… 🌴🎨

This morning, our residents enjoyed a lovely, tranquil painting session, surrounded by the sweet tropical aromas and relaxing spa-style music. It created the perfect calming atmosphere, and we think we may have discovered a few budding artists here at Riverside House! 🖌️💚

Today is all about relaxing and recharging as we prepare for our Summer Fair tomorrow. We can’t wait to welcome as many familiar and new faces as possible and hope it’s a fantastic day for our wonderful residents.

* Seller arrival/set-up: Approximately 12:30 pm
* Fair opening times: 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Come along and support your local care home for a fantastic afternoon of fun, entertainment, and community spirit.

🎤 A live singer performing at 3:00pm

✨ Another fun-filled day here at Riverside House! ✨

Well, what can I say… another fantastic day packed full of smiles, laughter and wonderful memories! 💙

Our residents had a fabulous time singing and dancing along with the amazing Gary James, who had everyone entertained from start to finish. Alongside all of our usual daily activities, everyone also enjoyed a delicious ice cream while soaking up the entertainment – the perfect treat for a lovely day! 🍦🎶

Days like these remind us what Riverside House is all about – friendship, fun and making every day special for our residents.

The only thing that could make today even better is an England win tonight! ⚽🏆

Come on England – you’ve got this… Let’s bring it home! 🏴🤍❤️

Well unfortunately it won’t be coming home this time - but we’ve still had a good day x
