**You asked and we did**

Although all parents and carers, whatever their gender, are welcome at our groups, we do get asked regularly if we have anything specifically for dads, especially on a weekend.

So, here it is: Side By Side will be starting on Saturday 13th June and then taking place on the second Saturday of the month from 10am - 11.30am at Nelson Family Hub/The Zone, Leeds Road, BB9 8EL.

Side By Side is FREE, aimed at dads, male carers and children up to 11 years old, and will involve fun games and activities, plus a snack and a brew.

☀️ Sun Safety for Babies, Toddlers & Children ☀️
Keeping children safe in the sun helps protect their skin now and in the future 💛

👶 Babies under 6 months
Keep out of direct sunlight
Use shade, wide‑brimmed hats and loose, long‑sleeved clothing
Sunscreen is not recommended – speak to a health professional if unsure

🧒 Babies over 6 months, toddlers & children
✅ Use SPF 30+ (or higher) sunscreen
✅ Apply generously and reapply every 2 hours, and after swimming
✅ Wear hats, sunglasses and protective clothing
✅ Encourage play in the shade, especially between 11am–3pm
✅ Keep children hydrated with regular drinks

🌻 Remember: Sunburn in childhood increases the risk of skin damage later in life.

If you know a child or young person is experiencing low mood or anxiety, help them reach out to someone they can talk to, or access online resources.

A child or young person may feel more comfortable opening up to a school nurse, teacher, youth workers or group leader.
