Bob Ellis was an absolute icon of the equestrian world, and his passing leaves a massive void in the showjumping community. Affectionately known by everyone as "Bob the Builder," he truly was a master of his craft and a complete gentleman who always prioritised horsemanship and fairness to the horse.
The course he created at the London 2012 Olympic Games were a masterpiece of British heritage, design, and top-tier sport. It was an incredible privilege for Botanica International Ltd to support him and his talented team during what he always called the absolute crowning achievement of his 40-year career.
He leaves behind a legendary legacy that shaped modern showjumping across 33 different countries. He will be deeply missed from the ringside at Hickstead, Windsor, and the London International Horse Show.
