Today we made good on a promise we made back in January on our Violets 103rd birthday which was to take her back to Caister on a trip to their lifeboat station for coffee and cake.
Since we were lucky enough to have the Kingsley mini bus today for our trip we decided to make the most of the seats and take a group, making the most of an opportunity for a family meet up for another 2 of our residents as well.

We all had a wonderful time enjoying coffee and cake in their lookout cafe and we honestly can’t cannot thank the staff and volunteers at Caister Lifeboat for their warm welcome and going above and beyond securing tables for such a large group of us and then for making Violet feel extra special and listening to her stories of her time in Caister as she shared memories of people she knew. Even Current joint Coxswain Owen Nutt took the time to come and say hello, reminisce and agreed to a photo, and as she browsed the gift shop she was offered the opportunity to have a photo with their newest lifeboat the Annette Thurlow to go along side the picture of Violet from 1986 of her aboard one of the lifeboats (we think from working it out that it was the Shirley Jean Ayde which is now on display in their museum) with her husband Stuart.

What a lovely day we had and we can honestly say it feels amazing to have been able to complete this promise for a very special lady.

Today we got crafty and made our own Dream Catchers!

We used paper plates, coloured wool, bright colours, beads and butterflies to create them and with a little help from family members we spent a lovely afternoon chatting and creating.

What a fantastic day we had here yesterday.
Our residents had made some cowboy art work.
Kicking off the day ,lunch was a gorgeous Cowboy ranch style stew.
Budgie a local singer came and entertained us and in St Mary’s style we well and truely rocked the house down.
Our residents then tucked into cowboy cakes topped with fresh strawberries.
A great day was had by all.

Our resident’s and staff all had a great morning with Berts Amazing Creatures. A royal python, dragon, chinchilla and a giant bunny all came to visit us. Everyone had a great day, and some resident’s even cuddled the snake.
We look forward to welcoming Bert back to St Marys later in the summer.

A big thank you to Friend in Deed for arranging a visit from Beebops today!

We had a lovely morning making new friends and being active to music.

We absolutely loved it and the bubbles were a BIG hit!

Thanks again Beebops

A special trip out for some of our residents last week as we were invited to attend Catton Grove Primary School to watch their YR6 leavers show of Matilda!

Over the past 7 months we‘ve been enjoying monthly visits from Catton Grove students through our ongoing relationship with Friend in Deed where we have enjoyed doing puzzles, colouring and learning about each other and as the school term comes to an end for the summer the wonderful staff invited us to visit them for a change and to ensure it was something that we could achieve they even arranged for their mini bus to collect us and bring us home.

The children were absolutely fantastic and in the words of Elizabeth - a retired teacher, ”they were all wonderful, how lucky are we”

Thanks again Catton Grove - Have a great summer, we can’t wait to see you in September!

A huge congratulations to Iona, one of the lucky winners of our luxury hamper draw at the Norfolk Show! 🎉💜

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand and made the day such a wonderful success. It was a pleasure meeting so many people, introducing them to our care homes and Kingsley Home Care, and sharing everything we do to support people in our local communities.

We hope everyone who visited had a fantastic day.

We're already looking forward to next year!

It’s been another scorcher of a day and truth be told it’s really tired us out - we spent a lovely morning with the wonderful children from Catton Grove Primary school, doing puzzles and colouring sheets but after lunch we decided to put a pause on our planned activity of gardening and position ourselves by the fans and air conditioned conservatory.

Our hard working team whipped up a refreshing roaming hydration station and popped round to every person in the building to offer something cool and refreshing!

Brownie Points to chef Chacko for whipping up a plethora of options to make the food and drinks inclusive of those with dysphagia whilst keeping it tasty and eye catching for our residents.
