The intense blue biofluorescence of a rat!

All around the world there is an army of rats just waiting for the right type of light and they will glow bright blue.

The common rat was one of the first mammals to be identified as being fluorescent, they get their blue glow from Kynurenine and Kynurenic acid, metabolites of the amino acid Tryptophan.

Whenever you find yourself in an urban environment always keep your eyes out for the rodents of the city with a UV torch.
