Returning to running after knee surgery isn’t just about strength 👇
This client had unfortunately already been cleared to return to running by another practitioner, despite not yet completing any plyometric rehab, and was suffering pain upon his runs.
Here you can see the difference between sides during hopping mechanics, and what can ultimately lead to worrying knee pain, especially post surgery.
Plyometric work helps restore:
✅ force absorption
✅ tendon capacity
✅ confidence under load
✅ running mechanics
Before returning to running, the knee needs to tolerate repeated impact — not just controlled gym exercises.
Rehab should prepare the body for the demands of running, not just the absence of pain.
Save this for your return-to-run journey🏃
