We have been reading news this morning of the court hearing of an owner of a funeral business in Hull. Quite honestly, we are shocked & sickened by what has been discovered & our hearts go out to all the families deceived by this person.

We always treat your loved ones with respect, dignity & compassion. This is just one of the reasons we are part of The National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD). This is not a free service, we actively have to pay a yearly membership fee to be a member. The strict rules & regulations they set out align with our own morals & ethics. We get inspections where they just turn up at the drop of a hat, no warning. This is exactly as it should be in our opinion.

We will continue to do our very best for the families who entrust the care of their loved ones to us. It is our absolute honour to care for them on their final journey.

We are so saddened to read this BBC news article.

Transparency, honesty, dignity & decency are just a few of the values our business is built around. We find it absolutely astonishing that other businesses don't operate the same way.

We will always treat your family with the utmost dignity, respect & professionalism. Your loved one will be brought to our private, woodland Chapel of Rest where they will remain until the day of the service. We always discuss with you where you would like the service to be held. Our Direct Cremation service is held at St Faith Crematorium. But you are welcome to nominate another local crematorium if you wish to use a different one. We will also be totally transparent about how this would affect the price.

We recently posted about Direct Cremations & how you should speak to your local, independent funeral director before purchasing one of these types of services advertised on TV. This is exactly why we posted it previously (& will continue to); to support & protect the families in our community (& beyond), because we genuinely care. The Advertising Standards Agency (ASA) have now banned one of these adverts due to misleading content.

This is why we urge you to contact your local, independent funeral director who can talk you through all the options available, including direct cremations. We believe that every funeral should be planned with that family & their choices in mind, whether they choose a direct cremation, a full cremation, a burial, a standard hearse, a motorbike hearse, an Only Fools & Horses Reliant Robin hearse, a coloured coffin, a wicker coffin, a picture coffin, a plain coffin to write on...the list goes on! No matter what you would like, your local, independent funeral director will do their absolute best to make it happen.
