🎡 Our carer didn't just turn up and do a job.
He learned which Italian songs made an elderly man's face light up.
He showed up every visit, sang them together, and became someone that man genuinely looks forward to seeing.

That's not in a care manual. That's just humanity.

His family told us:
"My grandad has built up such a lovely relationship with his carer. It's reassuring to know he is not only well looked after β€” but also enjoys the company and support he receives."

We'd love to hear your stories too. πŸ‘‡
Has a carer, nurse, or neighbour ever gone above and beyond for someone you love? Tell us in the comments.

Break the spell of loneliness

πŸ’™ Small actions can make a big difference. πŸ’™

This Loneliness Awareness Week, we're encouraging everyone to take a moment to connect. A phone call, a cup of tea, a walk together, a message or simply checking in on a neighbour can mean more than you realise.
Loneliness is a normal human emotion and can affect people at any stage of life. As we get older life changes such as retirement, bereavement, caring responsibilities or health conditions which can make it harder to stay connected to others.
But no one should feel they have to face loneliness alone.πŸ’™

This week, we'll be sharing information, support and simple ways we can all help create a more connected Norfolk.

πŸ’¬ What small action has made a difference to you?

🌍 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day | 15 June

Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported β€” no matter their age.

Elder abuse can happen in many forms: physical, emotional, financial, or neglect. It often happens behind closed doors, but it doesn’t have to stay hidden.

πŸ’™ Let’s stand together to:

βœ… Speak up if you see something that doesn’t feel right

βœ… Listen to and believe older adults

βœ… Check in regularly with elderly neighbors, family, or friends

βœ… Promote kindness and dignity in every community

A safe, respectful life is a right for everyone. Let’s raise awareness, break the silence, and protect those who built our world.
