Ultrasound guided injections

We now offer ultrasound guidance for a variety of our injections, including joint and muscle injections.

Ultrasound-guided injections allow medication to be placed precisely where it is needed using real-time imaging, by visualising the joint, tendon or soft tissue during the procedure. This can improve accuracy and helps ensure the correct area is being treated.

​During the procedure, a small amount of gel is applied to the skin and a handheld ultrasound probe is used to locate the area. A fine needle is then guided into position under ultrasound, and the medication is delivered to the intended site.
