Awakening isn't something 'out there' to be found. It's something we can begin to embody, here and now, in the way we live, move and meet the world.

This week, Danacharin explores the theme of embodiment through the beautiful image of the shepherds' round dance – a celebration of grounded joy, shared humanity and the Dharma expressed in everyday life.

Come along to explore how the Dharma comes alive through the body: rooted in joy, expressed in movement, and woven into the ordinary moments of everyday life.

Our Meditation Nights are open to all levels of experience, with guided meditation for beginners and a more lightly led session for more experienced practitioners. There's no need to book, but please arrive at 6.45pm for a 7pm start.

Join us this Sunday for our Dharma Day festival. Six weeks after celebrating the Buddha’s Enlightenment, on this day we’ll be celebrating the Buddha’s Turning of the Wheel of the Dharma. That is to say, when he first communicated his experience to others.

The first part of the day will include meditation, a keynote talk and discussion. After lunch, we will be welcoming back Samudracandrā and Kamalasakhī and hearing a little bit about their experiences on their ordination retreat.

All are welcome to come to this special event. By donation but please book on our website.

Join us this Wednesday as Danacharin continues exploring the symbolic significance of the shepherds' round dance, the third gift from Sangharaksh*ta's poem, 'Four Gifts'.

This week, Danacharin will turn to the theme of playfulness. While our spiritual practice is something to be taken seriously, it doesn't need to be solemn. Our Dharma life can be spontaneous, creative, and light-hearted. Playfulness is itself a spiritual quality, helping to loosen our sense of self-importance. Come along to explore why a spirit of play may be an essential part of progress on the path.

Our Meditation Nights are open to all levels of experience, with guided meditation for beginners and a more lightly led session for more experienced practitioners. There's no need to book, but please arrive at 6.45pm for a 7pm start.

What are we fabricating and why?

We are all trying to make sense of the world and our experience and we believe that what our senses tell us, is true. But are we deceived? Buddhism tells us that our experience is a fabrication of the mind. If this is true, could we be creating our own suffering?

Join Vajraguptā for meditations and a short talk on this fascinating subject. Bookings can be made on our website.

Our friendly lunchtime meditation sessions offer a peaceful break in the middle of your day. They run weekly on Wednesdays, 12.45-1.15pm, and Saturdays, 1-2pm.

This year we have taken Sangharaksh*ta's poem, 'Four Gifts'. Last week, we began exploring the third gift in the poem: the shepherds' round dance. Danacharin introduced the theme of joy, inviting us to reflect on how we can begin to notice and understand the conditions that allow joy to arise.

This week, Danacharin will explore how the shepherds' round dance could be understood as a symbol of interconnectedness. The shepherds dance together, in rhythm and in relationship, reminding us that joy is something to be shared rather than experienced in isolation. Come along to reflect on how this shared movement can deepen our sense of connection and shape the way we live and practise together.

Our Meditation Nights are open to all levels of experience, with guided meditation for beginners and a more lightly led session for more experienced practitioners. There's no need to book, but please arrive at 6.45pm for a 7pm start.
