A little late this year but Happy Work Anniversary to me! 🎉 Just over 8 years ago I started my business from TheHair&BeautyLounge. That little room at the back of the salon remains my second home and sanctuary all of these years later. I still love what I do!
Reflexology continues to surprise me and just brings so much joy. Giving, receiving and now sharing the knowledge is a privilege I never take for granted…the world really would be a much better place if everyone had reflexology 🦶🏼🤩. Thanks once again to my loyal clients, who have been with me from the beginning in many cases, but also to those who pop in once, once a year or when life takes a turn. I couldn’t be more grateful 🙏🏽😁

For years I struggled to meditate. Eventually I stopped listening to guided meditations and opted for silence instead, which worked better for me, as I found some of the voices distracting. This app however, has changed everything. It takes you on a journey and teaches you why meditation matters. You pick the time, the place, your position and every time you return, the journey continues. I am loving it! If you want to learn how to meditate, or just want to try something new, I can’t recommend this app enough. Use the link below to get 30 days for free 😌

Very excited to be assisting this year’s group of future reflexologists on their journey to the wonderful world of reflexology, with the amazing , starting this Saturday. I loved watching last year’s group grow into such knowledgeable practitioners. It is a special complementary therapy for sure 🤩.

What’s your thing? We all have something. The thing that raises our energy, yet makes us feel at peace. The thing that helps us keep our head above water when times gets tough, but also elevates us when we are riding high - drawing, singing, running, dancing. You may even have more than one thing. Life is unpredictable and change is inevitable - for the better and the worst. You can’t control what is coming, but you can put things in place to help manage your emotions. Remember these are tools to help you. Reflexology is my thing. What’s your thing?

Return to Nursing course finished! After 12 weeks of working the hardest I ever have - juggling jobs, classes, assignments, exams, children and the fur-baby, it’s done. I’ve pushed myself further than I thought I could go, but have learned so much and am glad I did it. Sometimes you have to practice what you preach and I kept up with the small practices that help with stress and overwhelm, even at my busiest…self-care is so important!
Needed two weeks to decompress, but had a treatment swap with my therapy sister on Monday, met up with good friends today for a gorgeous dog-walk in the sun and am feeling incredible! Big thanks to all of my regulars who changed their appointment days to accommodate my training 😘

Burnout develops over time when prolonged stress overwhelms the body’s ability to recover. It can affect energy levels, concentration, sleep, emotional resilience, and the nervous system’s capacity to switch out of a constant state of alertness.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that may support burnout recovery by encouraging deep relaxation and helping to regulate the nervous system. When the body is given regular opportunities to move into a rest-and-restore state, it can begin to rebuild its capacity for rest, energy, and emotional processing.

Reflexology may also help improve body awareness, supporting individuals in recognising early signs of fatigue or overwhelm. This awareness can be an important part of recovery, helping people respond more gently to their limits rather than pushing through exhaustion.

While reflexology does not replace medical or psychological care, it can be used alongside appropriate support as part of a gradual, holistic approach to recovery. By working with the body rather than forcing change, reflexology may help support resilience and a more sustainable return to balance over time.

💜 The Irish Reflexologists’ Institute (IRI) is the professional body for reflexology in Ireland, supporting reflexologists through education, professional standards, continued learning, and a connected practitioner community. 💜
