What a day at Alexandra Palace watching the Snooker Masters with John Higgins potting a black ball decider in the final frame to seal a 6-5 victory over the current world champ.

This was Higgins record extending 32nd consecutive year in the Masters.

I enjoy watching almost any master in their field do their work, but to do it for over three decades, what a legend.

An unwavering commitment to his craft. Inspiring.

And speaking of mastery, we also tasted a different form of mastery, with hands down the best scotch egg I've ever had! 🤣

𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐭𝐨?

Is there something you'd love to do but haven't?

Are there things you'd like to share but don't?

Are there things you'd like to try but shy away from?

In most of these cases, its because when you compare yourself to X you beat yourself up about it, criticise yourself and minimise yourself.

If this happens in one area, there might be a simple block holding you back from taking the next step.

If you find this happens across multiple areas of life and something that hold you back on a regular basis, its more likely to be a result of low self-esteem and low self-worth.

If you fast-forward 10 years, there now, and then look back...

Realising you haven't done the things you would have loved to.

The only thing that will follow is regret.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝?

Modern life requires you to keep lots of different plates up in the air AND to keep them all spinning.

Family, work, health, socialising, social media, food, money, to name a few…

When the images in your mind become TOO BIG and SCARY, your brain panics and goes into overwhelm.

When your current circumstances trigger a painful PAST event, old images flash up in your mind's eye causing further OVERWHELM.

What can you do?

Because much of the imagery in your mind is nonconscious - out of your normal daily awareness, it can be tricky to manage things on your own.

Getting some support to CLEAR all of that old information and make the new, current information smaller, neater and easier to manage can turn a set of mountains back into mole hills again.

To being calm, relaxed and confident.

His journey went through 3 stages.

💡 This enables you to see that things aren’t permanent, you aren’t doomed to feel this way forever and you do have far more power and control than you might think.

𝟑 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝐋𝐄𝐅𝐓!

The doors are open and the seats are being filled. But why could this be the ideal fit for you?

As humans we tend to like to start something when we feel ready. At the beginning of the NEXT ‘X’.

It can feel like we’re starting fresh, beginning a new chapter, a clean slate. Which is why we often say…

“I’ll start the new diet on Monday”.

“I’ll start going to the gym on the first of the month”.

“I’ll really work on getting my mindset sorted next year”.

But the reality is that problems don’t disappear. Challenges don’t go on holiday. Brain noise doesn’t take the day off.

And so all that really happens is that when the time does come round, we’ve got too much other stuff to deal with. We give OURSELVES permission to half-bake it because we’re also dealing with X, Y or Z.

Never is this more true than for mental health. The majority of people who decide not to move forward and join a programme tend to caveat their answer with “I’ll come back next year when I feel ready’

When they do come back, it's sometimes 2 or even 3 years later, and they're in the SAME position.

BUT…

There are certain people who understand that putting in the hard yards UP FRONT, while the other challenges are going on, can not only make them easier, but they can also start planning their NEXT adventure from a mindset of freedom rather than fear.

That challenges are part of the ride, so by picking one your prepared to work through, the other, smaller ones tend to fade away.
