An eye test checks far more than how clearly you can see.

Many eye conditions can develop gradually, with few or no noticeable symptoms in their early stages. That's why regular eye examinations matter, even when your vision feels perfectly fine.

An eye test looks at much more than how well you can read the letters on a chart. It allows your optometrist to assess the health of your eyes, check for changes in your vision and look for early signs of conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration.

Your eyes can also sometimes show signs associated with wider health conditions, including diabetes and high blood pressure.

Think of an eye examination as a routine health check for your eyes, rather than something you only need when your vision changes.
